The Border

In Nogales, Arizona, the men and women of U.S. Customs and Border Protection are at ground zero in the battle against drug trafficking, illegal immigration and terrorism. Officers and agents here work around the clock patrolling 1100 square miles (2850 square kilometres) of terrain, including some 32 miles (51 kilometres) of international border between the U.S. and Mexico. The Border follows these men and women as they face daily challenges at one of the busiest border crossings in the U.S. The cameras were there as officers raced to save suffering illegal immigrants in the desert, uncovered a shocking cartel smuggling strategy, rescued two little girls as they were smuggled into the United States and broke a port record for a single seizure. These agents’ and officers’ work goes on 24/7 as they patrol the nation from the front lines.
