Crimes de l'ouest

From fur traders to oil drillers, Western Canada opens its wide open spaces to people from around the world looking to make a better life for themselves. The region is also home to First Nations who have been living there for over 10,000 years. As soon as you cross the Ontario border to the west, the land becomes hostile and daunting. The per capita rate of firearms possession and criminal activity doubles. As a younger, more emotional and more unstable population struggles to deal with broken dreams, people often turn to violence. With breathtaking scenery as a backdrop, “Crimes de l’ouest” shows us a brutal world at the border between civilization and an untamed frontier.
