2,098,000 Viewers Watched the Canadiens’ Last Game of the Season on RDS

Montreal (May 30, 2014) – Yesterday, an average of 2,098,000* viewers followed the 6th and final game of the Canadiens-Rangers series on RDS. Up to 2,746,000* fans were in front their televisions to see the Canadiens play their final game of the season.

RDS gained 57.3%* of market shares during the broadcast, more than all Quebec’s networks combined, and ranked 1st* in prime-time TV viewing.

All in all, the Montreal Canadiens’ sensational quest for the Cup during the 2014 NHL Playoffs has generated 6 audiences surpassing 2 million viewers and 17 consecutive audiences’ reaching over 1 million viewers on RDS. Fans’ passion for the Montreal Canadiens helped RDS gain 13.6%* of market share on the entire month of May and achieved a 2nd place for the months TV ratings overall Quebec’s networks: Something never before seen by a specialized network in Quebec. 

As of next Wednesday, RDS will be broadcasting all games of the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals, where the New York Rangers, the Canadiens’ vanquishers, and the victors of the Western Conference Finals, led actually 3-2  by the Los Angeles Kings, will face off in the ultimate series. Watch Game 6 of the Blackhawks-Kings series, Tonight, at 9 p.m. ET live on RDS.
