Animal Planet’s Holiday Programming Highlights

For the 2016 holiday season, viewers can enjoy programming marathons and festive specials on Animal Planet, available in Free Preview until Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017.  The network is offering pawsitive holiday specials from Top 10 most-watched Animal Planet series TANKED (Dec. 26) and TREEHOUSE MASTERS (Dec. 28). Animal Planet’s Free Preview is available from DATE to Jan. 10 through television service providers across Canada including: Bell, Bell Aliant, Cogeco, Eastlink, MTS, Rogers, SaskTel, Shaw, Shaw Direct, Telus, Videotron, and several CCSA partners including Access Communications, Westman Communications, Northwestel Inc., Tbaytel, Novus Entertainment, Wightman Telecom Ltd., Mitchell Seaforth Cable TV, and Mascon. Below is a chronological listing of Animal Planet’s holiday season programming highlights. All programming is subject to change (all times ET; visit to confirm local broadcast times). Saturday, Dec. 24 MY CAT FROM HELL – Series Marathon 2 p.m. to 6 a.m. Dec. 25 Cat behaviourist Jackson Galaxy has seen it all, from spastic cats that break-up relationships to violent felines that put their owners in the hospital. Viewers are invited to follow Jackson as he brings his unique understanding of cats to families on the verge of giving up on them. Sunday, Dec. 25 TOO CUTE! – Series Marathon 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. This adorable series lets viewers witness the world of puppies and kittens like never before, with unprecedented footage of the early lives of dogs and cats. Monday, Dec. 26 TANKED FOR THE HOLIDAYS – Holiday Special: “We Fish You a Merry Christmas” 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wayde King and Brett Raymer  team up with Australian Pop star, Alli Simpson to help spread some holiday cheer. They travel to Flint, Michigan to donate an incredible aquarium to the Children's Miracle Network and the Hurley Children's Hospital. Tuesday, Dec. 27 NORTH WOODS LAW: ‘TIS THE SEASON – Holiday Special 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. During the holiday season, Pete Herring visits a children's hospital in Portland, Oregon with members of the K-9 unit and Alan Curtis donates game to a soup kitchen; Scott Thrasher invites everyone to his home for a potluck dinner. Wednesday, Dec 28 REDWOOD KINGS – Holiday Special 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Viewers are invited to follow twins Ron and John Daniels during the holiday season as they run their treehouse and theming business, Daniels Wood Land. TREEHOUSE MASTERS – Holiday Special: “Appalachian Christmas Treehouse” 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pete Nelson and his merry men trek to the Blue Ridge Mountains to build a treehouse for one of their own, carpenter Mike Reynolds. Sitting 16 feet high, it will be the perfect rustic guesthouse to host the raucous Appalachian breaking up Christmas tradition! Friday, Dec. 30th PIT BULLS AND PAROLEES – Holiday Special 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. The team at Villalobos Rescue Center embarks on a quest to make the season bright for Brandi and Snickers, two of the rescue organization’s longtime resident Rovers, by giving them the gift of a forever home. Saturday, Dec. 31 DR. JEFF: ROCKY MOUNTAIN VET – Season 2 Marathon 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. His love for animals coupled with his 25+ years of veterinary experience has helped and saved countless pets, including dogs, cats, and exotic animals. With his maverick ”can-do” energy, Dr. Jeff is possibly one of the busiest veterinarians in the country and has attracted more than 80,000 clients. With so much going on, it can be a mad house in Dr. Jeff’s animal house, but he and his skilled team of veterinary experts complete approximately 30 surgeries a day while attending to a diverse clientele and their pets, even taking their services on the road with a unique mobile clinic. RIVER MONSTERS – Series Marathon 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jeremy Wade has spent three decades exploring some of the most inhospitable freshwater waterways around the world and now he’s diving headfirst into the mysteries of our planet’s oceans. From Thailand to France, Peru, Australia, Mexico, and to the Bahamas, Jeremy will lead investigations around the world in search of deep sea killers. TANKED – Season 6 Marathon 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. As co-owners of Las Vegas-based Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (ATM), one of the country’s most successful builders of aquariums and two of Sin City’s most imaginative businessmen, Wayde King and Brett Raymer are tasked with building some of the most enormous and awe-inspiring tanks and aquariums for top celebrities, luxury hotels and casinos, Fortune 500 businesses, private homes and millionaire homeowners across the country that are filled with the most exotic, unusual, colorful and dangerous fish in the world. Sunday, Jan. 1 NORTH WOODS LAW – Series Marathon 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. As one of the nation’s original guardians of the great outdoors, there isn’t much this group hasn’t seen, and this season is no different. The game wardens snare a pair of brothers who are aiming to poach deer, scramble to save a tangled great blue heron, diffuse a volatile situation when a hunting family gets confrontational and bring closure to one of the most confounding mysteries in Maine Warden Service history. With people and wildlife increasingly sharing territory, the game wardens must work together to ensure all laws are obeyed. THE VET LIFE – Series Marathon 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. THE VET LIFE follows veterinarians Dr. Diarra Blue, Dr. Aubrey Ross, and Dr. Michael Lavigne, who recently moved to Houston to open a full-service veterinarian hospital and animal shelter together. The series captures the doctors' lives as they juggle running a new business while managing their family life filled with spouses, parents, in-laws, children, pets, and friends, as well as their intense moments saving the lives of animals at their clinic. DR. DEE: ALASKA VET – Season 1 Marathon 12 Noon to 7 p.m. From treating reindeer and moose to California King snakes and the family pet, caring for animals across the last frontier is a full-time job for Dr. Dee Thornell. In the all-new season of DR. DEE: ALASKA VET, Dr. Dee and her husband Ken spend much of their time traveling to remote villages – where there are often as many dogs as humans – to hold low cost spay and neuter clinics. In true Alaskan spirit, the couple get inspired to launch their own rescue service, flying unwanted and stray dogs by back to their hometown in Fairbanks to find forever homes.
