As Spring Training Officially Begins, HBO’s Hit Comedy Series EASTBOUND & DOWN Begins Streaming Exclusively on CraveTV

EASTBOUND & DOWN is a winner about a real loser.” – Entertainment Weekly “…out-of-control, disgusting, irreverent, moronically and maniacally funny…” – New York Post “You’re F*&*ng Out. I’m F*&*ng In!” Kenny Powers   And coming out of the bullpen is Kenny Powers, the crudest, rudest former pitcher to ever hit the majors. As Major League Baseball reports for spring training, all four seasons of HBO’s raw and raunchy cult comedy series EASTBOUND & DOWN begin streaming exclusively on CraveTV today. The series, dubbed by Exclaim.ca as “one of the most subversive and ambitious comedies on television” during its run, features Danny McBride as broke-but-never-out Kenny Powers, a star pitcher whose fading fastball, self-destructive behaviour, and insufferable personality knocks him out of major league baseball and back home to North Carolina, where he ends up teaching Phys Ed at the middle school he once attended. Executive produced by some of Hollywood’s biggest comedy minds including Will Ferrell (Zoolander 2), Oscar®-nominated director Adam McKay (The Big Short), and Danny McBride, the series joins the HBO, Comedy, Sports, and What’s New collections.   EASTBOUND & BOUND – Season 1 EASTBOUND AND DOWN also stars Katy Mixon (Four Christmases) as April Buchanon, Kenny’s former flame and current object of desire, who teaches at the school; John Hawkes (HBO’s DEADWOOD) as Kenny’s brother Dustin Powers, a family man who is forced to take Kenny into his home to help get him back on his feet; Jennifer Irwin (Still Standing) as Dustin’s patient wife Cassie; Andrew Daly (REVIEW) as Terrence Cutler, the school principal, a fan of Kenny’s who puts up with his transgressions; Steve Little (The Ugly Truth) as Kenny devotee Stevie Janowski, the school’s band teacher; and Ben Best (Superbad) as bar proprietor Clegg, a druggie pal from the old days. EASTBOUND & BOUND – Season 2 In Season 2, Kenny takes up residence in a small Mexican town joined by his lackey Stevie Janowski (Steve Little, THE GRINDER) and a new love interest, Vida (Ana de la Reguera, NARCOS). There, he fashions a comeback scenario that involves a local baseball team, the Charros, and its wealthy owner, Sebastian Cisneros (Michael Peña, GRACEPOINT). EASTBOUND & BOUND – Season 3 In Season 3 the still-audacious Kenny brings his “f*#ked up behaviour” to Myrtle Beach – a tourist destination filled with fireworks stores, mini-golf, and underage boozing – and somehow resurrects his baseball career as the closer for the minor-league Myrtle Beach Mermen. Even as he postures himself as the King of Myrtle Beach, Kenny struggles to come to terms with growing older, both in his personal life as a new father and professionally with the arrival of up-and-comers, who challenge him in the league. Along the way, he befriends a veteran catcher named Shane (Jason Sudeiki, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), a kindred spirit who ends up teaching Kenny a cautionary lesson about overindulgence. EASTBOUND & BOUND – Season 4 Season 4 takes place several years later. Kenny has married April, has another child, and still hates his job as Assistant Manager at a car-rental outlet in North Carolina. The vices of his playing days are a thing of the past – until Kenny runs into Guy Young (Ken Marino, CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL), a onetime teammate and current host of the raucous TV talk show Sports Sesh. Guy convinces Kenny to quit the rat race and get back in the game – as a celebrity titan who deserves greatness and the lifestyle of the rich, famous, and arrogant.
