TORONTO (June 26, 2018) – Bell Media has partnered with Rotary International as the official media sponsor for the 109th Rotary International convention in Toronto. With 24,000 Rotary club members visiting the city since the convention opened last weekend, Bell Media’s multi-platform campaign is in full-swing showcasing the work of Rotary to visitors from around the world, as well as to those who live and work in Canada’s largest city.
“In a joint effort between Bell Media Sales and Community Investment teams, we’re thrilled to be working with Rotary International and the Toronto Host Committee to create and execute a truly unmatched campaign,” said Stewart Johnston, President Media Sales, Marketing, and TSN, Bell Media. “As the largest media and content company in Canada, we’re able to leverage every possible opportunity for exposure in a unique one-stop-shop experience for our clients, bringing attention and awareness to the Rotary People of Action campaign and an exciting lineup for this humanitarian convention.”
“Bell Media has some of the best assets in television, radio, out-of-home advertising, and digital media, and we put all of these assets to use to support Rotary,” said Michael Gauthier, Chair of Marketing and Communications for the Toronto 2018 Rotary Host Organizing Committee. “Through a combination of sponsorship on the part of Bell Media, and paid advertising placement, we were able to create very high awareness for our visitors from around the world as well as with Torontonians.”
Bringing awareness to the convention and Rotary’s work, the campaign is spread across Bell Media’s considerable assets, including television spots on CTV Toronto and CP24, on radio at NEWSTALK 1010, and on digital platforms CTV.ca and CP24.com. Rotary has also leveraged Astral’s out-of-home opportunities, from street furniture spread throughout the city’s high-traffic areas and the “roofscape” at Yonge and Dundas, to luggage carousels and other large-format digital signage welcoming thousands of Rotary members on arrival at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
The exclusive partnership continues into the convention itself, with Bell Media providing on-air talent to emcee events, and the sponsorship of multiple host events at Toronto’s Distillery District, Ripley’s Aquarium, and the Canadian National Exhibition Centre.
Rotary brings together a global network of community leaders dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. We connect 1.2 million members from more than 35,000 Rotary clubs in almost every country in the world. Their service improves lives both locally and internationally, from helping those in need in their own communities to working toward a polio-free world. Toronto’s first Rotary convention took place 94 years ago, with subsequent conventions in 1942, 1964, and 1983.
