TORONTO (May 15, 2014) – Bell Media announced today that Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award-winning actor Jim Parsons will be featured in two, custom Nissan Micra commercials set to air exclusively in Canada – on CTV, CTV Two, the CTV GO app, and The Comedy Network. Conceived and created by Bell Media Brand Partnerships, the Bell Media Agency, and TBWA Toronto, the Canadian-exclusive spots feature Jim Parsons highlighting the newly launched Nissan Micra, debuting tonight in prime time on CTV. Extended versions of the spots are set to run on CTV.ca, beginning tomorrow.

At the end of the day, people want a car that is fun to drive and expresses their personality,”said Jim Parsons.

The Bell Media partnership allows Nissan Canada to leverage Canada’s #1 schedule, against the brand’s core buyer demographics.

“We’re excited to bring a car, specific to Canada, into our showrooms and we anticipate it will resonate with consumers who appreciate the quality, design, and value Micra offers,” said Mary McNeil, Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, Nissan Canada Inc. “Jim Parsons is the perfect choice to represent our brand in this unique Canadian partnership. The star’s much-loved, fun, outgoing personality was a natural fit to communicate two of the Nissan Micra’s key benefits of practical size and unbeatable value in a humorous and entertaining way that will resonate with our target audience.”

“Jim Parsons is a household name and our ideal match for our clients at Nissan to demonstrate how the Micra is engineered,” said Laird White, Director, Brand Partnerships, Bell Media. “Having the opportunity to create something unique and exclusive for Canadian audiences demanded that we bring the right personality on board for Nissan, and Jim has all the personality we could have asked for, and more.”

The first of two custom spots written by TBWA Toronto and produced by the Bell Media Agency is set to debut tomorrow. Bell Media Brand Partnerships partnered with Nissan Canada, represented by OMD, and Jim Parsons to highlight the all-new Nissan Micra’s urban-friendly car’s spaciousness, demonstrating that it’s the perfect fit for everybody.

In the second spot, Parsons gives viewers the skinny on the best of the Nissan Micra’s features, in these extensions of Nissan Micra’s Canadian launch campaign that began May 5.

Following their debut in CTV prime time on Thursday night, the 30-second broadcast spots are set to air for five weeks across CTV, CTV Two, the CTV GO app, and Comedy. Meanwhile fans will see extended versions of both spots on CTV.ca following their broadcast in a dedicated five-week strategic online placement.
