TORONTO (March 23, 2017) Bell Media Radio has been recognized by industry peers with 46 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Award nominations in the lead-up to Canadian Music Week. With award nominations across diverse small, medium, and major market categories, including six Virgin Radio stations, Bell Media Radio’s nomination tally is the highest among all other radio groups also recognized with nods this year. Also, as previously announced, CHUM FM’s Marilyn Denis will be inducted to the Allan Waters Broadcast Lifetime Achievement Award at the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards, honoured for her achievements and longstanding career in broadcasting, becoming the first female broadcaster to receive this prestigious award. The Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards will be handed out Thursday, April 20 in Toronto. Also announced this week, Bell Media Radio was recognized with four nominations for Industry Awards at the 2017 World Wide Music Summit in Los Angeles. Among the prestigious award nominations, Bell Media Radio is in contention for Best International Radio Group; a pair of nominations in the category of Best International Music Director for CHUM FM’s Lisa Grossi and 99.9 VIRGIN Radio’s Dames Nellas; and a nod to David Corey, Bell Media Radio’s Vice-President of Programming, in the category of Best International Program Director/Controller for CHUM FM.
