C100 and 101.3 Virgin Radio Go Live on Location to Deliver the 17th Annual IWK Foundation Radiothon, Feb. 1

– 10 Bell Media radio stations team up to share the inspiring stories of Halifax’s IWK during a special day-long live broadcast –

HALIFAX (January 30, 2018)C100 and 101.3 Virgin Radio are Halifax’s home for the 17th annual IWK Foundation Radiothon in support of specialized health care for Maritime women, youth, and children, airing this Thursday, Feb. 1 from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. AT. Bell Media radio stations across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are teaming up to deliver this special day-long broadcast live from the Goldbloom Pavilion of the IWK (5980 University Avenue, Halifax). Throughout the day, these stations will share inspiring and courageous stories from families and IWK staff. Listeners are encouraged to support the urgent care needs of the IWK by calling 1-800-595-2266 to make a donation. Donations directly support priority equipment and fund programs, research, and new facilities. “Each and every year, we are amazed by the generosity of Maritimers and the incredible, life-changing stories we hear from IWK staff and patients during the IWK Radiothon,” said C100 morning show host Peter Harrison, who has participated in the IWK Radiothon every year since its inception. C100 and 101.3 Virgin Radio’s live radio coverage of the IWK Radiothon is hosted in partnership with Atlantic Acura, Scotiabank, and Sleep Country Canada. Now in its 17th year, the IWK Radiothon has become a highly anticipated annual event.  In 2017, the fundraiser collected more than $272,935 for families across the Maritimes who are cared for at the IWK. Media are encouraged to attend at any point throughout the day-long event.
