TORONTO (June 13, 2014) CANADA AM today announced that former United States Secretary of State, Senator, and First Lady Hillary Clinton will join host Beverly Thomson for a rare one-on-one interview. Airing Tuesday, June 17, the first and only former First Lady to run for public office will talk about her gripping new memoir Hard Choices. The book gives readers a front row seat into the behind the scenes decisions Clinton made as President Barack Obama’s top diplomat.

The 67th United States Secretary of State, Clinton served under President Obama from 2009 until 2013, and previously spent nearly eight years as New York State Senator from 2001 to 2009. As the First Lady of the United States, Clinton also served beside her husband, former United States President Bill Clinton, from 1993 through 2001.

“It is an honour to welcome Hillary Clinton to CANADA AM, and invite viewers across Canada to join in on this intimate conversation,” said Lis Travers, Vice-President, CTV News, Canada AM. “Her story is both fascinating and inspiring, and has shaped a substantial piece of the United States’ modern political landscape.”

Since departing her role as U.S. Secretary of State, Clinton has focused her attention on The Clinton Foundation initiatives and has continued her work as Co-Chair of Too Small to Fail, an organization aimed at improving early childhood development efforts.

CANADA AM can be seen weekdays beginning at 6 a.m. ET on CTV, CTV News Channel, the CTV GO app, the CTV News GO app, and on the CTV Mobile channel on Bell Mobile TV.
