Canadian icon Donald Sutherland joins Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant for HBO’s limited series THE UNDOING

— November 28, 2018

HBO revealed this afternoon that legendary Canadian actor and Order of Canada recipient Donald Sutherland will star alongside Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant in THE UNDOING, a limited series based on the book You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz. The series is written for television by David E. Kelley, who reunites with HBO and Kidman following 2017’s award-winning BIG LITTLE LIES (available now on the all-new Crave). THE UNDOING will debut on Crave, the home of HBO in Canada. About THE UNDOING: Grace Sachs (Nicole Kidman) is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She’s a successful therapist, has a devoted husband (Hugh Grant) and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City. Overnight a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself. Sutherland stars as Franklin Renner, Grace’s father, a retired financier and loving grandfather, who is tasked with protecting his family when turbulent revelations come to light. THE UNDOING is directed by Susanne Bier and written for television by David E. Kelley (BIG LITTLE LIES). Executive produced by David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, and Susanne Bier.
