CALGARY (March 13, 2014) – Starting this weekend, CTV Calgary reporter Chris Epp takes on CTV Calgary Weekend News co-anchor duties alongside Amanda Singroy. A member of the CTV Calgary team since 2007, Epp will co-anchor CTV WEEKEND NEWS AT SIX and CTV WEEKEND NEWS AT 11:30 in addition to his current role as reporter during weekday newscasts

Well-known to CTV News Calgary viewers, Epp has covered Alberta politics for the past seven years and was a panelist in the last provincial election debate. A political science graduate from the University of Manitoba and a Ryerson University journalism graduate, Epp’s 15-year career in broadcast has seen him cover stories everywhere from Louisiana to Laos.

“We are pleased to have Chris join Amanda at the weekend anchor desk,” said Jeff Little, News Director, CTV Calgary. “Chris is a solid journalist who has earned the trust and respect of our viewers, and we are excited to see him take this next step in his career.”

Epp’s new assignment follows on the retirement of the iconic Darrel Janz this past December. Janz, who has been the trusted voice in delivering the day’s headlines for more than 40 years, will continue to produce his ‘Inspired’ segment for CTV News Calgary every Wednesday.
