TORONTO (July 22, 2014) – It’s another year and another round of rollicking good times when The Comedy Network descends upon the hilarity mecca that is Montréal’s Just For Laughs Festival (JFL). From July 22 – July 28, Comedy is once again onstage, backstage, and online to capture the most hilarious moments from the festival.
Special to the festival this year, superstar comedian Seth Rogen brings together a hilarious line-up of comedians and special guests in support of the “Hilarity For Charity” fund, which benefits Alzheimer’s research, support, and awareness. Taped exclusively for Comedy and featuring appearances from Al Madrigal, Hannibal Buress, Jerrod Carmichael, Jim Norton, Joe Mande, and more to be announced, SETH ROGEN’S HILARITY FOR CHARITY debuts only on Comedy later this summer.
Slated for premiere in Winter 2015, Comedy’s cameras roll on the previously announced third season of The Comedy Network's original comedy series JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS. Produced in association with Just For Laughs Television, JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS returns for another 13 hours with episodes hosted by some of the brightest up-and-comers and biggest names in comedy including Andy Samberg, Bill Burr, BROAD CITY’s Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, Gabriel Iglesias, Hannibal Buress, Nick Offerman, and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’S Vanessa Bayer. Also appearing in Season 3 of JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS are hilarious stand-up sets from ground-breaking comics Al Madrigal, Brody Stevens, James Adomian, Nikki Glaser, Paul F. Tompkins, Ron Funches, TJ Miller, as well as Canada’s own Arthur Simeon, Dave Merheje, Graham Chittenden, K. Trevor Wilson, Sabrina Jalees, Sara Hennessey, Seán Cullen, and more.
Last but not least, Comedy has JFL covered on TheComedyNetwork.ca as host Paul Lemieux goes behind-the-scenes to chat with performers, capture the best moments from the Festival, and schmooze on the red carpet at the Just For Laughs Awards Show. Comedy’s blog will be updated daily, from Tuesday through Sunday, with the best photos, short videos and insider stories from the fest.
While in town, Comedy’s own network execs are on hand to lend their expertise during the Festival’s ComedyPRO Conference. On Friday, July 25, Director of Programming and Planning, Entertainment Specialty Channels, Sarah Weaver participates on the From Set to Screen: The TV Comedy Search panel. Then, on Saturday, July 26, Sarah Fowlie, Director, Independent Production, Comedy, participates in the Canada’s Greatest Export panel with a bevy of other top TV brass.
