TORONTO (May 2, 2014) Following today’s announcement that Ontarians are headed for a June 12 provincial election, Progressive Conservative Party Leader Tim Hudak was announced as next in the queue of rotating weekly hosts on NEWSTALK 1010’s THE PROVINCE, airing this Sunday May 4 at 1 p.m. ET. Next week, Ontario Liberal Party Leader and Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne is slated to take the reins of the hour-long call-in program on Sunday, May 11 at 1 p.m. ET.

As the campaign trail heats up, each week, Ontario’s provincial party leaders – Leader of the New Democratic Party Andrea Horwath along with Wynne and Hudak – will continue to take turns hosting the weekly show. Listeners can expect to hear from provincial party leaders and their special guests as they field calls from their constituents, providing important information and perspective in advance of the upcoming election.

“Now that an election has been called, Ontarians can continue to turn to THE PROVINCE to get informed as they prepare to head to the polls,” said Mike Bendixen, Program Director, Newstalk 1010. “This show provides a platform to openly and frankly explore the issues facing Ontarians, giving voters an opportunity to ask party leaders the tough questions.”

THE PROVINCE is simulcast on 610 CKTB in Niagara, AM 800 in Windsor, and 580 CFRA in Ottawa.
