TORONTO (March 10, 2014) – This month, 10 hopeful creature designers travel to Los Angeles with  the incredible shared dream; to land a coveted job in Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, in Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge . Premiering Tuesday, March 25 at 10 p.m. ET on Space, the eight-episode, one-hour reality competition series provides a fascinating window into the imaginative and wildly creative environment of world-class creature design, fabrication and mechanization. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge follows all-new episodes of the incredibly popular Face Off (Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET).

In JIM Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge, 10 aspiring creature creators compete to out-imagine one another in a series of challenges, where they build everything from mechanical characters to whimsical beasts, bringing high-end inanimate creature designs to life. The competing creature designers are allowed unprecedented access to Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, gaining hands-on experience to learn every aspect of what it takes to become a master creature designer. The contestants compete for a prize worth up to $100,000, including the opportunity to work at Jim Henson’s world-renowned creature shop.

JIM HENSON’S CREATURE SHOP CHALLENGE is hosted Gigi Edgley (Farscape) and stars lead judge Brian Henson, Chairman of The Jim Henson Company, who also oversees the ground-breaking work of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Henson is an award-winning writer, puppeteer, director, and producer whose mentor was his father, the iconic genius Jim Henson.
