Halifax (December 19, 2012) – It’s anon-stop party in Halifax this New Year’s Eve, as CTV and the Halifax RegionalMunicipality (HRM) deliver the best in Maritime entertainment with a two-and-a-halfhour live television event. Airing Monday,Dec. 31 starting at 10 p.m. on CTV Two Atlantic, the CTV MORNING LIVE teamhosts PARTY ON PARADE, the 19thannual New Year’s Eve celebration on Halifax’s Grand Parade. CTV unites countlessMaritimers across the country through the live show where thousands ofrevellers attend, combined with viewers tuning in across Canada to count downthe New Year with their friends “down home.”
Singer/songwriter Bruce Guthroleads an all-star line-up of Maritime entertainers including Lennie Gallant, J.P. Cormier, and Charlie A’Court, alongwith a house band featuring some of the best players in the region and openingact, The Shakedown Combo.
“The best New Year’s Eve tradition in the Maritimes continues with awho’s who of entertainers from this region,” says Mike Elgie, Vice-Presidentand General Manager of CTV Atlantic. “For the viewers at home and for those atthe Grand Parade, there’s no better way to ring in the New Year.”

The show kicks off with the red-hot, bass-slappin' Shakedown Combo, a bandthat has thousands of touring miles under its belt, fromacross Europe to festival and club dates throughout North America.
Lennie Gallant is a well-respectedsongwriter who has recorded a total of ninealbums – seven English and two French language. He has won numerous awards andnominations from the JUNOs and the East Coast Music Association and is a memberof the Order of Canada.
Singer/songwriter J.P. Cormier’s instrumental skills have astoundedaudiences around the world, with 13 solo albums since 1995 that have garneredmore than 30 awards in 20 years of fiddle, guitar, banjo and song-writingcompetitions.
Canadian soul/roots artist, Charlie A'Court’s unique song writing abilitybrings acontemporary twist to his solid blues style. His performances are always powerfuland heartfelt – attracting fans internationally with his gutsy vocals andcolourful yet solid guitar playing.
Bruce Guthro ties the performances together – a songwriter who has anamazing ability to promote not only the music from this region but also themany musicians who live and work here. He is an entertainer in his ownright and for the last ten years has also been the lead singer for the Scottishsuper group Runrig, which has a strong following in Europe.
