CTV Montreal Delivers Most-Watched English-Language Coverage of Québec Provincial Election Night

MONTRÉAL (October 2, 2018) – Last night, Montreal viewers elected CTV News their #1 English-language choice for the results of Québec’s 42nd general election. CTV Montreal’s primetime election special attracted a rating of 6.1 (A25-54) in the Montreal market, more than five times that of its closest competitor.
CTV Montreal was the first news organization to declare an election win (8:08 p.m. ET) for François Legault’s Coalition Avenir Québec.
Hosted by CTV Montreal anchors Mutsumi Takahashi and Paul Karwatsky, CTV Montreal’s live primetime special was watched by a total of 339,000 unique viewers. Audiences peaked at 102,400 viewers at 9:02 p.m. ET, after the Coalition Avenir Québec party had secured its first-ever majority government.
