TORONTO (June 6, 2015) – CTV News’ television and digital properties along with several Bell Media Radio stations were recognized for excellence in electronic journalism during the annual RTDNA of Canada National Conference Gala in Toronto this evening. Made up of fellow electronic journalists and news managers, the RTDNA honoured CTV NATIONAL NEWS WITH LISA LAFLAMME with the distinguished Bert Cannings Award for Best Network Television Newscast for the fourth year in a row. In addition, CTV News Toronto’s CTV NEWS AT SIX was also honoured with the Bert Cannings Award in the category of Best Newscast, Large Market. CTVNews.ca took home the coveted Digital Media Award. In total, Bell Media properties took home 16 awards this evening, bringing the 2015 tally of national and regional RTDNA awards to 53, plus two honorable mentions for Bell Media. The spotlight frequently returned to Bell Media throughout the ceremony, as CTV News’ Lloyd Robertson, Host and Chief Anchor, W5, was presented with one of this year’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards, highlighting his many contributions to the field of electronic journalism. Lis Travers, Vice-President and Executive Producer, CANADA AM, received the 2015 Distinguished Service Award, presented in recognition and appreciation of outstanding contribution and exemplary distinguished service rendered for the benefit and advancement of electronic journalism.
