TORONTO (June 10, 2014) – As Ontario prepares to head to the polls on Thursday, June 12, CTV News today unveiled plans to provide broad and encompassing coverage of Ontario’s 41st Provincial General Election. Canada’s most trusted news source delivers unparalleled, multi-platform coverage designed to keep Ontario voters and Canadians across the country completely informed throughout Election Day with live, in-depth coverage and analysis leading up to, during, and following the official announcement of a declared winner.
Starting at 8 p.m., Toronto viewers can also turn to CP24’s YOUR VOTE 2014, also simulcasting on CP24 GO apps and CP24.com, featuring live results and speeches, an alternative, second screen “Backstage Pass” event on CP24.com, and an in-studio election party with Toronto’s top newsmakers. Live election results will also be available on CP24.com.
Additionally, kicking off at 9 p.m., NEWSTALK 1010 is set to broadcast live results and speeches throughout the evening, expert analysis from several key former politicians, and immediate reaction from voters and the station’s hosts and commentators.

CTV Toronto News, Toronto’s undisputed evening news ratings leader* delivers CTV ELECTION SPECIAL 2014, anchored by Ken Shaw and Michelle Dubé, providing viewers with live election coverage and ongoing, in-depth analysis from the time the polls close until a winner is announced and the leaders have spoken. Featuring robust live election coverage with remotes from leaders’ headquarters, social media analysis, and in-studio interviews with political insiders, viewers will also hear from an in-studio audience of stakeholders hosted by CTV News’ Zuraidah Alman. Also in studio to examine and discuss election results as they unfold is John Wright, Senior Vice-President of Ipsos Public Affairs. Hosted by CTV News’ Ashley Rowe, Wright delivers up-to-the-minute analysis of polling numbers.
Online, CTV News Toronto’s CTV ELECTION SPECIAL 2014, will be streamed at CTVNews.ca and on CTV News GO apps. Kicking off at 8 p.m. on CP24 and CP24 GO, YOUR VOTE 2014 anchored by Stephen LeDrew and Ann Rohmer features panel discussions with notable political guests including Howard Hampton, former leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party; Former Liberal Deputy Premier George Smitherman; Former Ontario Progressive Conservative Cabinet Minister Frank Klees on one panel, and Toronto Councillors Doug Ford (Ward 2), Jaye Robinson (Ward 25) and Pam McConnell (Ward 28) on another. Special guests Robin Sears, Public Affairs Consultant for Earnscliffe Strategy Group, and Sean Simpson, Vice President, Ipsos, offer expert insight and analysis of the trends developing across the province with a focus on GTA results.
CP24 reporters are fanned out across leaders’ headquarters to deliver live reports, and also stationed at ridings around the GTA and kitchen parties with partisan groups to bring viewers the latest updates. YOUR VOTE 2014 is slated to carry live coverage of leaders’ speeches after the results are in.
