“Anne Murray was one of Canada’s first successful cultural exports, and though she hasn’t performed publicly in nearly a decade, she is still so revered,” said LaFlamme. “I’m honoured to catch up with this Canadian music legend to talk about her life, her career, and her new album of her all-time favourite songs.”
The remarkable and internationally beloved artist has sold over 55 million albums worldwide, and did so while effortlessly moving between pop, country, and adult contemporary formats with a distinctive sound. She has been honoured with four Grammy Awards, a record-breaking 24 JUNO Awards, three American Music Awards, three Country Music Association Awards, and three Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
A Companion of the Order of Canada, the highest honour that can be awarded to a Canadian civilian, Murray is also an inductee of the JUNO Hall of Fame, the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame. Murray has a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, on Canada's Walk of Fame as well as Nashville's Walkway of Stars. In 2007, Murray was featured on a limited edition Canada Post stamp.
The songstress’ latest album, The Ultimate Collection, features Murray’s own favourite songs from her illustrious career, with a special double-vinyl configuration available this Nov. 17.
