TORONTO (November 8, 2018) – One hundred years since the armistice that marked the end of hostilities in the First World War, CTV News honours the courageous men and women of the Canadian Forces with the live special REMEMBRANCE DAY 2018, airing this Sunday, Nov. 11 beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET.
Airing on CTV, CTV2, CTV News Channel, and streaming on CTVNews.ca, CTV.ca, and the CTV and CTV News apps, the live broadcast from Ottawa’s National War Memorial is led by CTV News’ Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme. The 90-minute special unites Canadians across the country, saluting the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of Canada’s heroic veterans.
Joining LaFlamme on the REMEMBRANCE DAY 2018 special to deliver unique insights, personal reflections, and historical context are Gen. (ret’d) Rick Hillier, former Chief of the Defence Staff and top-ranking officer in the Canadian Forces; Jane Urquhart, Governor General’s Award-winning author and Officer of the Order of Canada; and Craig Oliver, CTV News’ Chief Political Commentator.
