REGINA (December 31, 2014) – CTV News Regina announced today that Paul and Carol Hill are co-recipients of the 2014 Regina Citizen of the Year Award. David Fisher, Vice-President and General Manager, CTV Saskatchewan, revealed this year’s awardees today on CTV NEWS AT SIX.

"Over the decades, the service of Paul and Carol has improved life for many individuals across the region," said Fisher. "They have worked tirelessly to improve the quality of education in our city, and they have been positive change-makers in support of disadvantaged youth."

The extensive community service and contribution of the Hills have benefitted many city organizations and institutions, including One Life Makes a Difference Charitable Foundation, Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, the Catholic Studies program at Campion College, and the Paul J. Hill School of Business, University of Regina.

In 2011, the duo opened the Mother Theresa Middle School of Regina, founding Canada’s first Jesuit fostered Nativity/Miguel Academy, which provides economically disadvantaged Grade 6 through Grade 8 students with intensive education and mentorship support.

Every November, CTV accepts nominations for the Regina Citizen of the Year Award, and presents the award to a winner who exemplifies excellence in community service at the end of December.
