CTV Programming Highlights: April 1 – 13

No foolin’! April begins with new episodes of hit CTV original series including new workplace comedy SPUN OUT, crime drama MOTIVE, and culinary competition series MASTERCHEF CANADA. Plus, CTV has new episodes of MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., THE GOLDBERGS, TROPHY WIFE, PERSON OF INTEREST, MIXOLOGY, ARROW, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI, SURVIVING JACK, THE BIG BANG THEORY, TWO AND A HALF MEN, GREY’S ANATOMY, KIRSTIE, GRIMM, BLUE BLOODS, W5, ONCE UPON A TIME, BELIEVE, THE FOLLOWING, and THE AMAZING RACE.

Programming Highlights for April 1 – 13 on CTV include:

  • Agents Garrett (Bill Paxton, BIG LOVE) and Triplett (B.J. Britt, BEING MARY JANE) return to help the team track down the Clairvoyant on MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. (April 1).
  • Jack (Christopher Meloni) takes baseball training to the next level for his son Frankie (Connor Buckley) and his friends on SURVIVING JACK, airing in its regular timeslot at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT (April 3).
  • Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) must solve a case involving the death of a promising high school senior on MOTIVE (April 3).
  • Nelson (Al Mukadam) helps Dave (Dave Foley) deal with the death of his former college professor on SPUN OUT (April 4).
  • Kathy Griffin guest stars as herself in an all-new KIRSTIE (April 4).
  • Tate (Jake McLaughlin) puts his freedom at risk to help Bo (Johnny Sequoyah), and the pair resurface in Philadelphia where Bo is drawn toward a young couple in trouble in two all-new back-to-back episodes of BELIEVE (April 6).

  • Mila Kunis guest stars as Walden’s (Ashton Kutcher) new love interest on an all-new episode of TWO AND A HALF MEN (April 10).
  • The Kids in the Hall guest star in an all-new episode of SPUN OUT, airing in its regular Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT timeslot (April 11).
  • Look who’s talking: John Travolta guest stars in an all-new episode of KIRSTIE (April 11).

Tuesday, April 1

8 p.m. – MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “End of the Beginning” – NEW EPISODE

Agents Garrett (Bill Paxton, BIG LOVE) and Triplett (B.J. Britt, BEING MARY JANE) are back to help Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team track down the Clairvoyant, S.H.I.E.L.D.'S nefarious enemy. But will Deathlok (J. August Richards, ARROW) destroy them all to protect his master’s identity?

9 p.m. – THE GOLDBERGS – “The President’s Fitness Test” – NEW EPISODE

Adam (Sean Giambrone) is terrified of the upcoming Presidential physical fitness test, so Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) decides to write him a note to get him out of it. The plan backfires when the gym teacher declares the only way to excuse Adam is a Presidential pardon. Meanwhile, Erica's (Hayley Orrantia) French pen pal Fanny (Bella Dayne, AMERICAN HORROR STORY) comes to visit and Barry (Troy Gentile) begs Erica to help him learn French to impress her.

9:30 p.m. – TROPHY WIFE – “Couples Therapy” – NEW EPISODE

Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) confronts Pete (Bradley Whitford) at a school fundraiser when she sees him swap out his chilli for Kate’s (Malin Akerman). Pete then concocts a story about how he and Kate are going to couples counselling over their problems. Meanwhile, Meg (Natalie Morales) relaxes at the Harrison’s house and becomes an object of fascination for Warren (Ryan Scott Lee) and Hillary (Bailee Madison).

10 p.m. – PERSON OF INTEREST – “Most Likely To…” – NEW EPISODE

Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Shaw (Sarah Shahi) pose as alumni at a high school reunion in order to keep eyes on the latest P.O.I. Meanwhile, Finch (Michael Emerson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman) travel to Washington, D.C., to investigate the motivations behind Vigilance's latest attack.

Wednesday, April 2

8 p.m. – ARROW – “Deathstroke” – NEW EPISODE

Slade (Manu Bennett) makes his move against Oliver (Stephen Amell) and the repercussions are enormous. While Oliver scrambles to protect his family, a key player in his team starts to question Oliver's decisions. Meanwhile, Isabel (Summer Glau, ALPHAS) makes her move to take Queen Consolidated away from Oliver.

9 p.m. – CRIMINAL MINDS – “Blood Relations” – NEW EPISODE

When two murder victims are found in a backwoods community in West Virginia, the BAU uncovers a long-simmering feud between two families and must investigate which side could be responsible for the deaths.

10 p.m. – CSI – “The Fallen” – NEW EPISODE

Russell (Ted Danson) is taken hostage after a teenager opens fire in a police station.

Thursday, April 3

7:30 p.m. – SURVIVING JACK – “Gonna Make You Sweat” – NEW EPISODE

Frankie (Connor Buckley), George (Kevin Hernandez), and Mikey (Tyler Foden) ask Jack (Christopher Meloni) to coach them for varsity baseball tryouts, but little do they know what's in store when Jack takes the training to the most intense level. Meanwhile, as the Dunlevy house becomes the cool hangout spot, Joanne (Rachael Harris) crosses the line by getting too involved in Rachel's (Claudia Lee) love life.

8 p.m. – THE BIG BANG THEORY – “The Indecision Amalgamation” – NEW EPISODE

Raj (Kunal Nayyar) is wracked with guilt when he tries to date two women at once, while Penny (Kaley Cuoco) wrestles with whether to take a role in a cheesy movie, and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is torn trying to choose between two gaming systems.

8:30 p.m. – TWO AND A HALF MEN – “West Side Story” – NEW EPISODE

Walden (Ashton Kutcher) gets an invitation to his ex-girlfriend's boutique opening. Meanwhile, Gretchen (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) wants to spend more time at Alan's (Jon Cryer) house.

9 p.m. – GREY’S ANATOMY – “You Be Illin’”– NEW EPISODE

The hospital gets inundated with flu-infected patients, which causes the doctors to slowly fall ill one by one. Derek (Patrick Dempsey) must fight off the sickness as he prepares to give a speech on brain mapping, and the residents place bets on who will fall ill first. Meanwhile, a new doctor at the hospital (Patrick Fabian, THE NEWSROOM) gives Alex (Justin Chambers) a glimpse into an alternate form of medical practice.

10 p.m. – MOTIVE – “Dead End” – NEW EPISODE

Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) must solve a case involving the death of a promising high school senior. Angie takes an aggressive approach to the case that Vega doesn’t agree with. Meanwhile, Detective Lucas (Brendan Penny) and Officer Sung’s (Valerie Tian) relationship starts to get personal.

Friday, April 4

8 p.m. – SPUN OUT – “Mad About Beckett” – NEW EPISODE

While working together on a PR assignment, Beckett (Paul Campbell) is determined to figure out why Stephanie (Rebecca Dalton) is unable to say the word ‘penis’ in his presence.  Nelson (Al Mukadam) helps Dave (Dave Foley) deal with the death of his former college professor. Bryce’s (J.P. Manoux) reign as Twitter king of the office is usurped when a single tweet by Esther (Jadyn Wong, BEING ERICA) makes her a Twitter sensation.

8:30 p.m. – KIRSTIE – “The Girl Next Door” – NEW EPISODE

When Kathy Griffin (guest-starring as herself) visits the building to look at the penthouse across the hall, a threatened Maddie (Kirstie Alley) struggles to contain her insecurities and goes to great lengths to re-stake her claim as the biggest star in the building.

9 p.m. – GRIMM – “Synchronicity” – NEW EPISODE

The Resistance's plan to keep Adalind (Claire Coffee) safe gets kicked into high gear when an unexpected ally arrives to ensure she and the baby make it out of Europe safely. In Portland, as Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) prepare for their upcoming wedding, Nick (David Giuntoli) and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) are reminded of their failed proposal.

10 p.m. – BLUE BLOODS – “Righting Wrongs” – NEW EPISODE

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Baez (Marisa Ramirez) investigate the death of a woman whose body was dumped after she was killed by a lethal dose of lidocaine following secret plastic surgery. Meanwhile, Frank (Tom Selleck) privately assigns Jamie (Will Estes) a cold case and Erin (Bridget Moynahan) tries out speed dating.

Saturday, April 5

7 p.m. – W5 – NEW EPISODE

In a W5 Exclusive, Canada's special forces soldiers come out of the shadows to reveal their training, their lives, and their missions. Then, W5 looks at a unique program that helps keep families together even when one of them is behind bars.

8 p.m. – MIXOLOGY – “Tom & Maya, Part II” – NEW EPISODE

Things are going surprisingly well with Tom (Blake Lee) and Maya (Ginger Gonzaga). Bruce (Andrew Santino) and Cal (Craig Frank) couldn’t be more proud, until they see Laura (Sarah Wright, MEN AT WORK), Tom's ex-fiancé, enter the bar. Meanwhile, Liv (Kate Simses) is in awe of Jessica (Alexis Carra) and Fab's (Frankie Shaw) ability to flirt with guys, so she asks for some pointers, and Kacey (Vanessa Lengies) and Ron (Adam Campbell) have a run in with a group of sexy firemen.

Sunday, April 6

7 p.m. – ONCE UPON A TIME – “It's Not Easy Being Green” – NEW EPISODE

As the dragnet closes, Tate (Jake McLaughlin) puts his freedom at risk to help Bo (Johnny Sequoyah) find the writer of a long-lost love letter. Meanwhile, Winter (Delroy Lindo) makes preparations for an escape from Manhattan as Skouras (Kyle MacLachlan) and Agent Ferrell (Trieste Kelly Dunn) ramp up the effort to bring Tate and Bo into custody.

9 p.m. – BELIEVE – “White Noise” – NEW EPISODE

Bo (Johnny Sequoyah) and Tate (Jake McLaughlin) resurface in Philadelphia where Bo is drawn toward a young woman and her husband, a blogger whose unrelenting pursuit of a mysterious story is threatening to tear the couple apart. Meanwhile, Skouras (Kyle MacLachlan) takes forceful action to track down a traitor within Orchestra.

Monday, April 7

8 p.m. – MASTERCHEF CANADA – “Line of Fire” – NEW EPISODE

The final six home cooks are confronted with a classic MasterChef team challenge: The Restaurant Takeover. The pressure is raised considerably when the red and blue teams learn that the professional kitchen they’ll be taking over belongs to one of the MASTERCHEF CANADA judges! After an extremely close call, the losing team faces a beloved Canadian classic in a Pressure Test – but this well-known sweet treat is deceptively difficult to master.

9 p.m. – THE FOLLOWING – “Betrayal” – NEW EPISODE

After a series of public condemnations of Joe (James Purefoy) and his followers, Joe targets the son of a man who stands against him. Meanwhile, Ryan (Kevin Bacon) is faced with the shocking news of Claire's (Natalie Zea) reappearance and Mandy (Tiffany Boone) makes a decision that leads her to a familiar face which could undo all that Joe has been working for.

Tuesday, April 8

8 p.m. – MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “Turn, Turn, Turn” – NEW EPISODE

Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team find themselves without anyone they can trust, only to discover that they are trapped with a traitor in their midst.

9 p.m. – THE GOLDBERGS – “You’re Not Invited” – NEW EPISODE

Adam (Sean Giambrone) is very excited for his laser tag birthday party since he plans to invite Dana (Natalie Alyn Lind, FLASHPOINT) for the first time. But Barry (Troy Gentile) thinks the theme is childish and agrees to help Adam organize a secret make out party in the basement. When Erica (Hayley Orrantia) finds out, she tells a panic-stricken Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey), but Murray (Jeff Garlin) cannot be bothered to help stop the party from happening.

9:30 p.m. – TROPHY WIFE – “The Minutes” – NEW EPISODE

After Kate (Malin Akerman) saves Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) from choking, she takes over the PTA and finds it harder to navigate than she thought. When faced with blackmail, she turns to Diane to make sure ‘it's handled.’ Meanwhile, Pete (Bradley Whitford) and Jackie (Michaela Watkins) confront their former neighbours after they forbid their son to go to the school dance with Hillary (Bailee Madison).

Wednesday, April 9

9 p.m. – CRIMINAL MINDS – “What Happens in Mecklinburg…” – NEW EPISODE

A series of targeted kidnappings near Memphis have the BAU searching for a commonality between the missing persons and a motive to lead to the UnSub. Meanwhile, Savannah (Rochelle Aytes, MISTRESSES) vents her frustration to Morgan (Shemar Moore) about the amount of travelling he does for his job.

10 p.m. – CSI – “Consumed” – NEW EPISODE

The CSIs track a cannibalistic killer and discover he's not working alone.

Thursday, April 10

7:30 p.m. – SURVIVING JACK – “How Do You Talk to an Angel” – NEW EPISODE

Frankie (Connor Buckley) tries to find the right moment to ask his crush Heather (Lili Reinhart, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT) to the homecoming dance, but when he finally works up the courage, she's already said yes to someone else. Meanwhile, Jack (Christopher Meloni) punishes Rachel (Claudia Lee) by making her drive George (Kevin Hernandez) to school.

8 p.m. – THE BIG BANG THEORY – “The Relationship Diremption” – NEW EPISODE

Sheldon (Jim Parsons) faces a personal crisis after deciding he's wasting his time with string theory. Meanwhile, a double-date between Raj (Kunal Nayyar), Emily (Laura Spencer, CHARACTER) and the Wolowitzes ends in embarrassment for Howard (Simon Helberg).

8:30 p.m. – TWO AND A HALF MEN – “Daddy’s Got a Healthy Flavor Stick” – NEW EPISODE

Alan (Jon Cryer) and Gretchen (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) grow closer, while Walden (Ashton Kutcher) reconnects with Kate (Brooke D’Orsay, ROYAL PAINS) and is sure she's "The One" – that is, until he meets Vivian (Mila Kunis) and becomes convinced she's "The One.”

9 p.m. – GREY’S ANATOMY – “I’m Winning” – NEW EPISODE

Cristina (Sandra Oh) is nominated for a Harper Avery Award and although most of her fellow doctors are ecstatic, she won't let herself get too excited. Meanwhile, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) continues to work on a young boy without an immune system, and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) work with a machine that can recognize emotions.

10 p.m. – MOTIVE – “Bad Blonde” – NEW EPISODE

When the Homicide team investigates a blood-soaked crime scene, the pressure is on to find a missing and badly injured bartender. Sergeant Cross (Warren Christie) joins Detective Flynn (Kristin Lehman) on the case, which gives her a twinge of guilt for leaving her trusted partner Vega (Louis Ferreira) out of the action.

Friday, April 11

8 p.m. – SPUN OUT – “Middle Aged Men in the Hall” – NEW EPISODE

Stephanie (Rebecca Dalton) surprises Dave (Dave Foley) with what she thinks is the perfect 50th birthday present: a reunion of his former Goth bandmates from high school (The Kids in the Hall: Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson). But even more disturbing than the sight of seeing middle-aged men with pale faces and black eyeliner, is the fact that they have come to fulfill their 30-year-old pact to kill themselves when the last one turns 50.

8:30 p.m. – KIRSTIE – “Mickey and Maddie” – NEW EPISODE

After firing inept but hunky stagehand Mickey (John Travolta, Old Dogs), Maddie (Kirstie Alley) consoles him with a one-night stand - then can't get rid of him. Tension arises between Frank (Michael Richards) and Arlo (Eric Petersen) when Frank asks Arlo's crush to be his tango partner.


Nick (David Giuntoli) and his mom, Kelly Burkhardt (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, HOSTAGES), join forces to protect Adalind's (Claire Coffee) baby. Meanwhile, Prince Viktor (Alexis Denisof, DOLLHOUSE) activates a deadly stateside asset (C. Thomas Howell, CRIMINAL MINDS) to find Adalind and her child.

Meanwhile at the Orchestra campus, Skouras (Kyle MacLachlan) focuses his attention on the potential of a young telepath (Owen Campbell, BOARDWALK EMPIRE).

10 p.m. – THE MENTALIST – “Silver Wings of Time” – NEW EPISODE

Jane (Simon Baker) and the FBI take up the cause of a death row inmate who has two days to prove his innocence before his sentence is carried out.
