CTV Programming Highlights: August 1 – 15

August heats up as the teams on THE AMAZING RACE CANADA continue their action-packed adventure. CTV also delivers all-new episodes of RISING STAR, THE LISTENER, HOT IN CLEVELAND, MASTERCHEF, MISTRESSES, ANGER MANAGEMENT, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, BITTEN, UNFORGETTABLE, and the season finales of GANG RELATED and the Bravo original series 19-2. Plus, the hit Space original series ORPHAN BLACK is back for encore presentations of the Season 2 on CTV.

 Programming Highlights for August 1 – 15 on CTV and CTV GO include:

  • American rock musician Chris Isaak guest stars on an all-new episode of HOT IN CLEVELAND (Aug. 3)
  • Olympic gold medal winner Tara Lipinski appears as a guest judge as this season’s Top 10 finalists perform on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (Aug. 6)

  • In the climactic season finale of 19-2, Nick (Adrian Holmes) receives devastating news, and struggles to contain his explosive response (Aug. 7)

Saturday, Aug. 2

10 p.m. – BITTEN – “Vengeance” – NEW TO CTV

The pack must put personal issues aside when they’re faced with a new threat – one that has ties to the former Pack Alpha. Nick (Steve Lund) learns more about his father’s past, while Logan (Michael Xavier) is faced with a difficult decision when he receives an unexpected gift.

Sunday, Aug. 3

7:30 p.m. – HOT IN CLEVELAND – “Brokeback Elka” – NEW EPISODE

Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli) uses her illness to get tickets to country star Chase Jackson’s (musician Chris Isaak) sold-out concert, while her friends also cash in on her “tumor perks.” Meanwhile, Victoria’s (Wendie Malick) new online suitor may not be the man he says he is.

8:00 p.m. – UNFORGETTABLE – “Stray Bullet” – NEW EPISODE 

Carrie (Poppy Montgomery) risks her job when she takes on a legendary NYPD family in order to clear Al (Dylan Walsh) of an ex-con’s murder.

9 p.m. – RISING STAR – “Quarterfinals #1” – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS

After six weeks of competition, the singers have been narrowed down to the Top 13 and next they will go against one another to compete for the highest scores.

Monday, Aug. 4

8 p.m. – MASTERCHEF – “Top 11 Compete” – NEW EPISODE

In the next Mystery Box Challenge, for the first time in MASTERCHEF history, the home cooks choose between two mystery boxes. One box is filled with everyday ingredients, while the second contains high-end ingredients. The winner of the Mystery Box Challenge will not only win immunity and advance to the Top 10, but will also choose which type of stuffed pasta the remaining home cooks will create in the elimination challenge.

9 p.m. – THE LISTENER – “Zero Recall” – NEW EPISODE

After Toby (Craig Olejnik) falls off the grid for the night, Michelle (Lauren Lee Smith) finds him wandering the port lands in a daze. His memory of the preceding hours wiped, toxicology tests show he was drugged with a medication that leaves victims highly susceptible to suggestion. Worse, his gun has been fired. Becker (Anthony Lemke) confiscates it for further testing and Michelle, Dev (Rainbow Sun Francks), and Toby spring into action to try to retrace his steps. An encore presentation of this episode airs Saturday, Aug. 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

10 p.m. – MISTRESSES – “Coming Clean” – NEW EPISODE

A shocking phone call brings April's (Rochelle Aytes) past back to haunt her. She's even more rattled when it appears that a strange man is shadowing her every move. Meanwhile, Savi (Alyssa Milano) takes Joss' (Jes Macallan) advice and reaches out to her long-absent dad (John Heard, PERSON OF INTEREST).

Tuesday, Aug. 5 

8 p.m. – ANGER MANAGEMENT – “Charlie and Sean’s Twisted Sister” – NEW EPISODE

Charlie (Charlie Sheen) is tempted by Sean’s (Brian Austin Green) younger sister.

9 p.m. – THE AMAZING RACE CANADA – “Who Designs These Torture Tests?” – NEW EPISODE

Teams fly to the Yukon where an Express Pass giveaway causes trouble. The Roadblock sets its sights on one team packing. An encore presentation of this episode airs Saturday, Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

 Wednesday, Aug. 6

8 p.m. – SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE – NEW EPISODE

Olympic gold medal winner Tara Lipinski appears as a guest judge, as this season’s Top 10 finalists perform with returning SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE all-stars. Two more dancers are eliminated from the competition.

Thursday, Aug. 7

9 p.m. – GANG RELATED – “Almadena” – NEW EPISODE

Ryan (Ramon Rodriguez) has Javier (Cliff Curtis) make a deal with the D.A.'s office as the Metas begin to solve the mystery regarding Salazar's (Carlos Gómez) death. Meanwhile, Jessica (Shantel VanSanten) reveals Ryan's secret to Ellis (Catherine Dent), and Daniel (Jay Hernandez) emerges as a leader within the Los Angelicos.

10 p.m. – 19-2 – “Winter” – NEW TO CTV – SEASON FINALE

In the climactic season finale of 19-2, Nick (Adrian Holmes) receives devastating news, and struggles to contain his explosive response. A surprise visitor lands in Ben’s (Jared Kesso) life, forcing him to make some very hard decisions.

Saturday, Aug. 9

10 p.m. – BITTEN – “Descent” – NEW TO CTV

Elena’s (Laura Vandervoort) worlds collide when Jeremy (Greg Bryk) orders Clay (Greyston Holt) to accompany her to Toronto for protection. An unexpected survivor is able to give the Pack valuable new information about the Mutts.

Sunday, Aug.10

7:30 p.m. – HOT IN CLEVELAND – “Bad George Clooney” – NEW EPISODE

The dog, “George Clooney”, appears depressed, and Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli) scores a new job as the result of a radio station’s follow-up interview about “George Clooney”’s at-home treatment.

8 p.m. – UNFORGETTABLE – “Throwing Shade” – NEW EPISODE

When one of Eliot’s (Dallas Roberts) oldest friends, the campaign manager for a mayoral candidate, is murdered, he is forced to face his past and current demons as Carrie (Poppy Montgomery) and Al (Dylan Walsh) work to uncover the killer.

9 p.m. – RISING STAR – “Quarterfinals #2” – NEW EPISODE – ONE HOUR

Monday, Aug. 11

8 p.m. – MASTERCHEF – “Top 10 Compete” – NEW EPISODE

In the next Team Challenge, the remaining home cooks will prepare a healthy football game concessions menu for an entire stadium, with special guest Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson. The team that receives the most number of votes from the football fans will be safe from elimination, while the losing team will have to face the next Pressure Test and create three unique prawn dishes.

9 p.m. – THE LISTENER – “An Innocent Man” – NEW EPISODE

Convinced an innocent man is taking the fall for a murder, Toby (Craig Olejnik) goes undercover as a prison inmate. An encore presentation of this episode airs Saturday, Aug. 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

10 p.m. – MISTRESSES – “Charades” – NEW EPISODE

April (Rochelle Aytes) learns the identity of the man who has been stalking her (Jason Gray-Stanford, MONK). Karen (Yunjin Kim) blurs doctor-patient boundaries when she offers a helping hand to Anna (Catherine Haena Kim), and Harry (Brett Tucker) plants some seeds of doubt that she might not measure up.

Tuesday, Aug. 12

9 p.m. – THE AMAZING RACE CANADA – NEW EPISODE

Thursday, Aug. 14

9 p.m. – GANG RELATED – “Malandros” – NEW EPISODE – SEASON FINALE

Daniel (Jay Hernandez) uses his wedding to finalize a deal between Javier (Cliff Curtis) and Lavar Quintel (Ray Campbell). Meanwhile, Chapel (Terry O'Quinn) leads his team into Mexico to find Matias (Amaury Nolasco), who he believes is responsible for a heinous murder.

Friday, Aug. 15

9 p.m. – ORPHAN BLACK – “Nature Under Constraint and Vexed” – SEASON PREMIERE

In the Season 2 premiere of Space original series ORPHAN BLACK, Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) is out of options, on the run, and pursued by deadly adversaries. Desperate to find her daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler, ALPHAS), Sarah’s scorched-earth tactics spark a war with “pro-clone” Rachel (Maslany).
