CTV Programming Highlights: January 6 – 17 CTV rings in the new year with the highly-anticipated two-hour series premiere of  MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER, the live broadcast of THE 72ND ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS®, celebrating the year’s biggest and best in film and television, and the two-hour mid-season premiere of CTV’s hit original series SAVING HOPE. Plus, CTV delivers new episodes of returning favourites THE BIG BANG THEORY, GOTHAM, FOREVER, THE MENTALIST, BLUE BLOODS, PERSON OF INTEREST,and more. Programming Highlights for January 6 – 17 on CTV and CTV GO include:
  • Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) returns to action on a mission to clear the name of Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), and save the world from his deadliest weapons on the two-hour series premiere of MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER (Jan. 6)
  • CTV’s hit original drama SAVING HOPE returns with a two-hour mid-season premiere with Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) playing ref to a mother-daughter spat between Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) and her daughter (Jan. 7)
  • When the guys finally agree to do something the girls like, it leads to a confrontation between Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) on THE BIG BANG THEORY (Jan. 8)

Below is a chronological listing of detailed highlights for Jan. 6 – 17. All programming is subject to change (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).   Tuesday, Jan. 6 8 p.m. – MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER – “Now is Not the End” – TWO-HOUR SERIES PREMIERE – PART 1 of 2 Inspired by the feature films Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER follows the story of secret agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) as she navigates a post-war, male-centric world in 1946. When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy – the only person he can trust – to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons, and clear his name.   9 p.m. – MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER – “Bridge and Tunnel” – TWO-HOUR SERIES PREMIERE – PART 2 of 2 In the second hour of the MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER series premiere, Howard Stark's (Dominic Cooper) deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter (Hayley Atwell) can recover it. If she’s caught on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse. 10 p.m. – PERSON OF INTEREST – “If-Then-Else” – NEW EPISODE Samaritan launches a cyber-attack on the New York Stock Exchange, leaving the team with no choice but to embark on a possible suicide mission in a desperate attempt to stop a global economic catastrophe.   Wednesday, Jan. 7 9 p.m. – SAVING HOPE – “The Parent Trap” – TWO-HOUR MID-SEASON PREMIERE –PART 1 of 2 In Part 1 of SAVING HOPE’s two-hour mid-season premiere, Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) plays referee while treating two aggressive female MMA fighters, as Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) plays ref to a mother-daughter spat between Dr. Dana Kinney (Wendy Crewson) and Molly (Eliana Jones, HEMLOCK GROVE) – culminating in an emergency visit to the hospital. Meanwhile, Dr. Dawn Bell (Michelle Nolden) has to try and save the heart of a foster mother in the ICU.   10 p.m. – SAVING HOPE – “Hearts of Glass” – TWO-HOUR MID-SEASON PREMIERE – PART 2 of 2 Part 2 of SAVING HOPE’s two-hour mid-season premiere continues, as Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) and Dr. Dawn Bell (Michelle Nolden) struggle when two patients on the transplant list need the same heart. Meanwhile, Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) and Dr. Joel Goran (Daniel Gillies) meet a patient with orthopedic hardware unlike anything they’ve ever seen. With the pressure of the impending board exams mounting at Hope Zion Hospital, Dr. Maggie Lin (Julia Taylor Ross) might be showing signs of cracking at the seams. This episode of SAVING HOPE is directed by Jason Priestley (HAVEN, CALL ME FITZ).   Thursday, Jan. 8 8 p.m. – THE BIG BANG THEORY – “The Space Probe Disintegration” – NEW EPISODE Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) tries to distract Raj (Kunal Nayyar), who is anxiously awaiting data from a space probe he helped launch. Meanwhile, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) go dress shopping with Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) and Amy (Mayim Bialik). 8:30 p.m. – THE GOLDBERGS – “DannyDonnieJoeJonJordan” – NEW EPISODE After falling boxes trap Murray (Jeff Garlin) in the garage, he demands Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) get rid of everything except for one trunk. When the trunk goes missing, Murray becomes sentimental about what was inside, while Erica (Hayley Orrantia) has trouble parting with her New Kids on the Block memorabilia. Learning of their sister's former obsession, Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Barry (Troy Gentile) tease Erica to a new level, resulting in a surprising turn for the brothers. 9 p.m. – TWO AND A HALF MEN – “Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy, Lyndsey” – NEW EPISODE Walden (Ashton Kutcher) discovers how challenging it is to be intimate with women when his foster son, Louis (Edan Alexander), is in the house. Also, Herb (Ryan Stiles) asks Alan (Jon Cryer) if he can go on a date with Lyndsey (Courtney Thorne-Smith). 9:30 p.m. – THE MCCARTHYS – “Sister Act” – NEW EPISODE When Marjorie's (Laurie Metcalf) overly competitive sister Eileen (Jane Kaczmarek, MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE), comes to visit, their sibling rivalry gets the better of them and it forces their families to lie to each another. 10 p.m. – THE MENTALIST – “Green Light” – NEW EPISODE The FBI is brought in to consult on a botched DEA raid, but when Abbott's (Rockmond Dunbar) former boss tries to blackmail Abbott into keeping the agency's missteps quiet, he is forced to choose between his career and morals.   Friday, Jan. 9 9 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE Three sisters from San Francisco hope for a perfect match with the Sharks and their dating app that introduces singles to friends of friends. Also from San Francisco, a man has an app that offers a solution to a common problem for online shoppers – how to get your package delivered on your schedule. Then, a former publisher from Old Brookville, New York, wants to make a fat profit on her classic shirt designed to make you look skinny; and husband and wife Wall Street brokers from New York have cooked up a compact way to eat your bagel.   10 p.m. – BLUE BLOODS – “Baggage” – NEW EPISODE In the 100th episode of BLUE BLOODS, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is conflicted when he learns that a group of highly-trained Army veterans are responsible for a robbery. Meanwhile, after a bomb scare in a subway turns out to be the work of a famous street artist, Garrett (Gregory Jbara) and Gormley (Robert Clohessy) argue about how to deal with the fallout.   Sunday, Jan. 11 7 p.m. – 2015 GOLDEN GLOBE ARRIVALS SPECIAL – LIVE THE TODAY SHOW’s Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, and Natalie Morales, along with Carson Daly host the 2015 GOLDEN GLOBE ARRIVALS SPECIAL, featuring interviews with the biggest stars from television and film, revealing the eagerly-awaited red carpet fashions worn on one of Hollywood’s biggest night. 8 p.m. – THE 72ND ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS – SPECIAL – LIVE Hosted by Golden Globe Award-winners Tina Fey (30 ROCK) and Amy Poehler (PARKS AND RECREATION) for the third year in a row, the ceremony celebrates the best in television and film and is broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.   Monday, Jan. 12 9 p.m. – FOREVER – “Diamonds Are Forever” – NEW EPISODE Henry (Ioan Gruffudd) and Jo's (Alana De La Garza) murder investigation of an ex-con, who is being framed for a jewelry store heist, reveals a special connection between the victim and Jo's late husband, who was an assistant district attorney. Jo's evocative memories reflect her warm and wonderful relationship, which become almost too painful for her to bear. Flashbacks trace Henry's life to 1816 London, where he ends up in jail. Incredibly, a priest, who is his cell mate, gives Henry a second chance at life. 10 p.m. – CASTLE – “Castle, P.I.” – NEW EPISODE After being forbidden to work with Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) or the 12th Precinct, Castle (Nathan Fillion) obtains a P.I. license and shows up unannounced at Beckett's crime scene, hoping to investigate alongside her as a private eye. But things don't go as Castle had planned.   Tuesday, Jan. 13 9 p.m. – MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER –“Time and Tide” – NEW EPISODE As Agent Carter (Hayley Atwell) closes in on Howard Stark's (Dominic Cooper) stolen technology, Peggy's secret mission could unravel when the SSR arrests Jarvis (James D'Arcy) and a secret is revealed.   10 p.m. – PERSON OF INTEREST – “Control-Alt-Delete” – NEW EPISODE Control (Camryn Manheim), who oversees the handling of relevant numbers for the government, begins to question the methods and intentions of the Samaritan program. Also, alarming news reports of a pair of vigilantes rampaging through the Northeast begin to surface.   Wednesday, Jan. 14 9 p.m. – CRIMINAL MINDS – “The Forever People” – NEW EPISODE When frozen bodies are found floating in water in Nevada, the BAU's investigation leads them to suspect that the victims were part of a cult that could be behind the deaths. Also, JJ (A.J. Cook) confronts old demons from her abduction and torture last year. 10 p.m. – SAVING HOPE – “Narrow Margin” – NEW EPISODE – NEW DAY AND TIME Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) steps away from the hospital for a hike in the woods, but can’t get away from medicine when she finds a trapped teenager in a dire situation. Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) needs Dr. Joel Goran’s (Daniel Gillies) help when a woman from the clinic won’t be seen by anyone else, and Dr. Zach Miller (Ben Ayres) has his hands full when an exotic dancer comes into the ER. Thursday, Jan. 15 8:30 p.m. – THE GOLDBERGS – “The Darryl Dawkins Dance” – NEW EPISODE As the Sadie Hawkins dance approaches, Erica (Hayley Orrantia) asks Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) to help her find Barry (Troy Gentile) a date to keep him away from Lainey (AJ Michalka, HELLCATS). But Beverly comes up with a girl that shocks everyone. Meanwhile, Adam (Sean Giambrone) gets into a fight with his best friend…Pops (George Segal). 9 p.m. – TWO AND A HALF MEN – “Here I Come, Pants!” – NEW EPISODE Alan (Jon Cryer) takes it upon himself to help Walden (Ashton Kutcher) keep Louis (Edan Alexander), after the social worker discovers he and Walden are not really a gay couple. 9:30 p.m. – THE MCCARTHYS – NEW EPISODE Synopsis currently unavailable. 10 p.m. – THE MENTALIST – “Little Yellow House” – NEW EPISODE A murder investigation becomes personal for Lisbon (Robin Tunney) when she learns that her underachieving younger brother, Jimmy (Robert Belushi, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.), is being sought as a key witness. Friday, Jan. 16 8 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE The Sharks are illuminated by a unique and elegant lighting solution designed by a man from San Francisco, and a pajama-clad duo from Menlo Park, California wants to help America one nap at a time with their wearable technology. Actor Dean Cain (LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN) and pro fighting champion Uriah Faber join an entrepreneur from Columbus, Ohio in his bid to get the Sharks to invest in his business for custom-tailored suits. 9 p.m. – GRIMM – “Wesenrein” – NEW EPISODE The Wesenrein act on their many threats against Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee's (Bree Turner) marriage. Meanwhile, Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) bring Wu (Reggie Lee) to a place where he's sure to find the answers he's looking for. Elsewhere, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) tries to come to grips with her new reality. 10 p.m. – BLUE BLOODS – “Home Sweet Home” – NEW EPISODE Jamie (Will Estes) gets Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) involved when he finds a homeless teen who claims his aunt was killed by her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) is angered when McCoy (Holt McCallany) replaces her as the prosecutor on a case involving a corrections officer.   Saturday, Jan. 17 7 p.m. – W5 – NEW EPISODE Synopsis currently unavailable. 9 p.m. – EYE CANDY – NEW TO CTV In an encore presentation of MTV’s EYE CANDY, Lindy (Justice) is convinced by her roommate, Sophia (Kiersey Clemons, TRANSPARENT) to begin online dating, but she quickly starts to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors may be a deadly cyber stalker. When her friends at the elusive cyber police uncover a potential serial killer in Manhattan, all signs point to one of Lindy’s dates. Teaming up with the cyber unit, Lindy works to solve the murders while unleashing her own style of justice on the streets of New York. EYE CANDY also stars Casey Deidrick (DAYS OF OUR LIVES), John Garet Stoker (Sean Graney’s Oedipus and the Foul Mess of Thebes), and Harvey Guillen (The Internship).
