CTV Programming Highlights: May 1 – 18

May begins with the return of major guest star Isaiah Washington on a special episode of GREY’S ANATOMY as the series prepares to say farewell to Sandra Oh, while Bob Newhart returns to THE BIG BANG THEORY for a special Star Wars-themed episode. 7:30 p.m. – SURVIVING JACK – “She Drives Me Crazy” – NEW EPISODE

In an effort to have Rachel (Claudia Lee) more engaged in school and take her future seriously, Jack (Christopher Meloni) gets her a spot on the wrestling team, much to the chagrin of the wrestling coach (Neil Flynn, THE MIDDLE). Meanwhile, Joanne (Rachael Harris), realizes that Frankie (Connor Buckley) is now embarrassed to be seen with her during their annual mother-son trip.

8 p.m. – THE BIG BANG THEORY – “The Proton Transmogrification” – NEW EPISODE

In anticipation of Star Wars Day (May 4 for all non-Jedis), THE BIG BANG THEORY celebrates the holiest of geek holidays with an all Star Wars-themed episode, featuring legendary TV icon Bob Newhart reprising his guest starring role as Professor Proton. In the episode, he helps Sheldon (Jim Parsons) cope with grieving the loss of his childhood TV idol, while Leonard (Johnny Galecki) turns a relationship milestone into a competition with Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting). Meanwhile, Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) make a Star Wars-themed gift for the guys.

8:30 p.m. – TWO AND A HALF MEN – “Dial 1-900-MIX-A-LOT” – NEW EPISODE

Alan's (Jon Cryer) girlfriend, Gretchen (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), insists he confess his true identity to Larry (D.B. Sweeney). Meanwhile, Walden (Ashton Kutcher) goes on a road trip with Jenny (Amber Tamblyn) and Barry (Clark Duke) to see his first car.

9 p.m. – GREY’S ANATOMY – “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” – NEW EPISODE

He was the love of Cristina’s life and broke her heart in one the most emotional moments in television history in a wedding that never happened. A reunion seven years in the making sees Isaiah Washington return as Dr. Preston Burke in an all-new GREY’S ANATOMY. In the episode, Cristina (Sandra Oh) looks to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) for advice as she assesses her future at the hospital. Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone, PRIVATE PRACTICE) work together on a difficult surgery involving conjoined twins.


10 p.m. – MOTIVE – “Abandoned” – NEW EPISODE

When the owner of a popular diner is killed in a kitchen explosion, Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) discover that a former employee had something the victim wanted, and was determined to fight for. With time running out for Angie to decide if she will testify for Sergeant Cross (Warren Christie) in his trial, she shares the real truth about their past with Vega.

Friday, May 2

8 p.m. – SPUN OUT – “Daved and Confused” – NEW EPISODE

When Dave (Dave Foley) throws out his back with a big client set to come in, Stephanie (Rebecca Dalton) and Nelson (Al Mukadam) take it upon themselves to spike his coffee with the pain medication he refused to take. Little did they know Dave was already self-medicating – not with painkillers, but with a little extra booze.

8:30 p.m. – KIRSTIE – “When They Met” – NEW EPISODE

On the eve of the Tony® nominations, Frank (Michael Richards) infuriates Maddie (Kirstie Alley) by admitting he doesn't think she'll get a Tony® nod. Trying to remind a fuming Maddie just how lucky she is to have him in her life, Thelma (Rhea Perlman) recounts how they all met.

9 p.m. – GRIMM – “My Fair Wesen” – NEW EPISODE

Nick (David Giuntoli) does his best to educate Trubel (newcomer Jacqueline Toboni) on how best to handle the world she is learning about for the first time, and decides it’s best to bring her on a ride along with Hank (Russell Hornsby). They find themselves investigating the homicide of a young woman that strikes a chord for Trubel. Meanwhile, Adalind (Claire Coffee) makes a discovery that she hopes will lead her to regain something she has lost.

10 p.m. – BLUE BLOODS – “Above and Beyond” – NEW EPISODE

When a detective from Danny's (Donnie Wahlberg) precinct is killed while working undercover, Frank (Tom Selleck) puts on a full-court press to find his killer, only to discover that the deceased had a big secret. Meanwhile, Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray SUITS) help Nicky (Sami Gayle) track down a former classmate who is living on the streets.

Saturday, May 3

7 p.m. – MIXOLOGY – “Liv & Jim” – NEW EPISODE

Liv (Kate Simses) is forced to face the reality of her actions as well as her engagement after her fiancé unexpectedly shows up at the bar. Meanwhile, Bruce (Andrew Santino) gets into a bar-gument with Tom (Blake Lee) and Cal (Craig Frank), after he finds out they watched the third season of Downton Abbey without him because of his constant disparaging remarks. Bruce takes offense and finds a new group of guys to hang out with, but when they also start to call him out for being a terrible person, he ponders whether or not he owes Tom and Cal an apology.

Sunday, May 4

7 p.m. – ONCE UPON A TIME – “Kansas” – NEW EPISODE

With Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) in labour and due to give birth at any moment, the residents of Storybrooke go on high alert in an attempt to ensure that Zelena (Rebecca Mader, WORK IT) doesn't try to steal her newborn baby for use in her ultimate game plan to turn back time and change her destiny, all while obliterating Regina's (Lana Parrilla) existence.

8 p.m. – THE AMAZING RACE – “Bull Down” – NEW EPISODE
The racers are in Spain where another double U-turn threatens The Accidental Alliance. Meanwhile, one team suffers a potentially game-changing injury.

9 p.m. – BELIEVE – “Prodigy” – NEW EPISODE

Tate's (Jake McLaughlin) efforts to keep Bo (Johnny Sequoyah) focused on her training are side-tracked when Bo has a premonition of a young musical prodigy dying in a car crash. In the wake of Channing's (Jamie Chung) capture, Winter (Delroy Lindo) sets a risky contingency plan in motion. At Orchestra, Skouras tests the powers of Dani (newcomer Mia Vallet), a newly discovered telepath.

10 p.m. – THE MENTALIST – “Il Tavolo Bianco” – NEW EPISODE

Jane's (Simon Baker) freedom is at stake when a grand jury is assembled to decide if he should be tried for the murder of Red John (Xander Berkeley). Meanwhile, Lisbon (Robin Tunney)  tries to find out how Jane feels about the possibility of her leaving Austin with Agent Pike (Pedro Pascal), and Cho (Tim Kang) and Abbott (Rockmond Dunbar) follow new leads in the human smuggling ring they recently uncovered.

Monday, May 5

8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “Live Top 8 Performance Show” – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS – LIVE

The remaining artists perform live in front of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira, and Usher. Viewers vote to keep their favourite artists in the competition.

10 p.m. – CASTLE – “Veritas” – NEW EPISODE

A secret investigation related to Beckett’s (Stana Katic) mother's murder goes awry when a man she has been surveilling is killed. When evidence links Beckett to the victim, she and Castle (Nathan Fillion) become the targets of a manhunt that puts both of them in grave danger.

Tuesday, May 6

8 p.m. – MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “Ragtag” – NEW EPISODE

In the last episode before the season finale, Ward's (Brett Dalton) betrayal and HYDRA's shocking secrets are revealed as Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team goes undercover on a mission that leaves no one unscathed.

9 p.m. – THE GOLDBERGS – “A Wrestler Named Goldberg” – NEW EPISODE

Murray (Jeff Garlin) and Pops (George Segal) convince Barry to come up with an elaborate lie about him joining the wrestling team so an overprotective Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is duped. When the truth comes out, Beverly takes matters into her own hands. Meanwhile, Adam (Patton Oswalt) convinces Erica (Hayley Orrantia) to take him to the local premiere of Return of the Jedi, but she flakes to hang out with her friends. When Erica sees his disappointment, she makes good on her original promise with a plan.

9:30 p.m. – TROPHY WIFE – “Back to School” – NEW EPISODE
Kate (Malin Akerman) begrudgingly agrees to accompany Jackie (Michaela Watkins) to her high school reunion, not fully realizing all that it entails. Meanwhile, Pete (Bradley Whitford) and Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) take Hillary (Bailee Madison) and Warren (Ryan Lee) to visit a college campus, leaving Bert (Albert Tsai) in the care of Meg (Natalie Morales) and Tevin (Paul Brittain).

10 p.m. – PERSON OF INTEREST – “A House Divided” – NEW EPISODE

When an unknown entity prevents The Machine from seeing the full picture of an impending catastrophic event, it sends the team five separate numbers to help them piece together the bigger picture. Meanwhile, Root's (Amy Acker) team of hackers arrives in New York.

Wednesday, May 7

8 p.m. – ARROW – “Streets of Fire” – NEW EPISODE

Oliver (Stephen Amell) rallies his team as Slade's (Manu Bennett) soldiers attack the city. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) gets a call from S.T.A.R. Labs with game-changing news, and Thea (Willa Holland) comes face-to-face with her father – Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman, TORCHWOOD).


When the BAU is called to Texas to consult on the murders of prostitutes, evidence points to killings with religious overtones. But as they delve further into the investigation, the team could put their lives at risk.

10 p.m. – CSI – “Dead In His Tracks” – SEASON FINALE

The CSIs investigate a present-day crime with ties to a mob heist that occurred 25 years ago. Meanwhile, Brass (Paul Guilfoyle) has a decision to make when his daughter attempts suicide.

7:30 p.m. – SURVIVING JACK – “Parents Just Don't Understand” – SEASON FINALE

Jack (Christopher Meloni) and Joanne (Rachael Harris) are at odds with each other when both kids betray their trust – Frankie (Connor Buckley) has his first taste of alcohol at a varsity baseball party, and Rachel (Claudia Lee) wants to go on birth control.

8 p.m. – THE BIG BANG THEORY – “The Gorilla Dissolution” – NEW EPISODE

A bad day causes Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) to reevaluate her life choices – including Leonard (Johnny Galecki). Meanwhile, Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) struggle to care for Mrs. Wolowitz (Carol Ann Susi), and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) gets relationship advice from Sheldon (Jim Parsons).

With Derek (Patrick Dempsey) away, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) spends time with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone, PRIVATE PRACTICE) and finds out her true feelings about her time in Seattle. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) deals with the ramifications of her actions, and Callie (Sara Ramirez) receives devastating news. Meanwhile, the residents panic after hearing that one of them will be fired.


10 p.m. – MOTIVE – “Nobody Lives Forever” – NEW EPISODE

Detectives Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira) investigate the death of a man trampled by his own horse, but they soon suspect homicide and are faced with more questions than answers. With the upcoming League of Nations trial looming, Vega expresses his concerns to Sergeant Cross (Warren Christie), while prosecutor Samantha Turner (Laura Mennell) confronts Angie.


Friday, May 9

8 p.m. – SPUN OUT – “Break Up Like Beckett” – NEW EPISODE

When Dave (Dave Foley) discovers that his former wingman (Jason Priestley, CALL ME FITZ)   – both in PR and with the ladies – is gay, he embraces the ‘gay lifestyle’ a little too hard. Nelson (Al Mukadam) and Abby (Holly Deveaux) help break his pattern of breaking up with women for the smallest of reasons, and Stephanie (Rebecca Dalton) enlists Bryce’s (JP Manoux) help to dump her boyfriend.


8:30 p.m. – KIRSTIE – “Thelma's Ex” – NEW EPISODE

Maddie (Kirstie Alley) and Thelma (Rhea Perlman) clash when Thelma's womanizing ex-husband Duke (George Wendt) comes to town. Worried she could lose her best friend and faithful assistant, an insecure Maddie will do anything to keep Thelma and Duke apart.

9 p.m. – GRIMM – “The Inheritance” – NEW EPISODE

Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) are called to investigate a double homicide, and quickly learn the victims were from a special section of the Verrat tasked with finding rare objects pertaining to the Wesen world. Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) gets involved with a mysterious father-and-son who crossed the country in a desperate attempt to deliver invaluable cargo to "the Portland Grimm." Meanwhile, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) begins to grow suspicious of Adalind's (Claire Coffee) recent behaviour and quietly decides to put extra eyes on her.


10 p.m. – BLUE BLOODS – “Exiles” – SEASON FINALE

When Danny (Donnie Walhberg) is placed on modified duty after investigating a case that was off-limits, he stumbles on something that someone is trying to keep quiet. When he passes the tip on to his father, Frank (Tom Selleck) is alarmed when he learns the enormity of this case and its internal involvement.

Saturday, May 10

8 p.m. – MIXOLOGY – “Bruce & Maya” – NEW EPISODE

The night is drawing to a close and nobody wants to go home alone at last call. Bruce (Andrew Santino) recruits Maya (Ginger Gonzaga) to fake flirt with him to get Jessica's (Alexis Carra) attention, but when things start to look like they're getting serious between them, Tom (Blake Lee) gets nervous causing Cal (Craig Frank) to spring into action. Meanwhile, Fab (Frankie Shaw) spots her attractive gynecologist and debates whether or not she'd be able to date him.

8 p.m. – MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. – “Beginning of the End” – NEW EPISODE

Dark secrets are revealed as Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team put everything on the line to stop Garrett (Bill Paxton, BIG LOVE) and the forces of HYDRA.

9 p.m. – THE GOLDBERGS – “Sweater Party!!” – SEASON FINALE

When Murray (Jeff Garlin) learns his high school free throw record has been broken, he begrudgingly attends a banquet as the guest of honour. Reliving his glory years, his school spirit is re-energized until he is mocked by the crowd. At home, Barry (Troy Gentile) decides to throw a party where he quickly loses the spotlight and it is up to Erica's (Hayley Orrantia) friend Lainey (AJ Michalka, MOTIVE) to help him get it back.

9:30 p.m. – TROPHY WIFE – “Mother’s Day” – SEASON FINALE

Kate (Malin Akerman) is overjoyed when Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) and Jackie (Michaela Watkins) offer to let her have the kids on her first Mother's Day. But when Kate discovers they have a hidden agenda, she is determined to get revenge. Meanwhile, Pete (Bradley Whitford) slowly buckles under the pressures at work.

Wednesday, May 14

8 p.m. – ARROW – “Unthinkable” – NEW EPISODE – SEASON FINALE

Slade (Manu Bennett) moves forward with his plan to kill one more person in Oliver's (Stephen Amell) life. When Slade kidnaps someone close to Oliver's heart, Oliver is pushed to the edge and realizes sometimes it takes doing the unthinkable to stop the monster. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) takes on Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson, DALLAS) with a little help from some friends.


The BAU continues its murder investigation in Texas, and clues uncover a deep web of corruption that could be the motive for the killings. Meanwhile, as one team member's life hangs in the balance, another concerned BAU member must face a sad secret from the past, and Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) is thrust into action to save a colleague.

In the Season 10 finale of GREY’S ANATOMY, the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital bid an emotional farewell to the beloved Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh). A possible act of terrorism rocks Seattle and causes chaos at the hospital. Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) makes a life-changing decision and one doctor receives shocking news.


10 p.m. – MOTIVE – “A Bullet For Joey” – NEW EPISODE

When a successful real estate agent is found dead, Detectives Flynn (Kristin Lehman) and Vega (Louis Ferreira) struggle to determine the motive. The investigation leads them to a potential suspect, but the case is anything but closed when the suspect’s family gets involved. Despite telling prosecutor Samantha Turner (Laura Mennell, ALPHAS) she won’t testify as a character witness in Cross’ (Warren Christie) upcoming trial, Angie’s involvement may not be over.


Friday, May 16

8 p.m. – SPUN OUT – “Carpoolers” – NEW EPISODE

Beckett (Paul Campbell) is shocked to discover that Nelson (Al Mukadam) slept with his college sweetheart. The discovery leads to a series of accusations and revelations that threaten to destroy the guys’ friendship. Bryce (J.P. Manoux) is insulted to find out that he’s the only one in the office who didn’t get a business card, and Stephanie (Rebecca Dalton) goes to great extremes to prove her politeness to a waitress.


8:30 p.m. – KIRSTIE – “Maddie’s Agent” – NEW EPISODE

Outraged that her co-star is getting jobs, Maddie (Kirstie Alley) vows to fire her agent (Jason Alexander, SEINFELD). When cowardice stops her from lowering the hammer, she seduces him. Bolstered by her "courage," Arlo (Eric Petersen), Frank (Michael Richards), and Thelma (Rhea Perlman) face their fears. Guest starring ETALK’s Jessi Cruickshank.


9 p.m. – GRIMM – “Blond Ambition” – SEASON FINALE

It's Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee's (Bree Turner) big day and their joy will only be matched by unexpected heartache for those around them. Nick (David Giuntoli) and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) make a startling realization that could shake their relationship to its core. Saturday, May 17

8 p.m. – MIXOLOGY – “Last Call” – NEW EPISODE

The bartenders have spoken and it's last call at Mix. Bar tabs aren't the only things that need to be closed as Tom (Blake Lee) finds himself bonding with Liv (Kate Simses), while she tries to help him take home Maya (Ginger Gonzaga). But in the process, Liv and Tom can't help but realize they might actually be meant for each other instead.
