REGINA (September 24, 2015) – Four communities across the southern Saskatchewan region have been selected for the Fall 2015 Edition of the CTV HOMETOWN TOUR, as announced last week by CTV NEWS AT SIX Co-Anchors Dan McIntosh and Heather Anderson. CTV NEWS AT SIX will broadcast tour highlights featuring the rich history and distinct essence of community life in Big Beaver, Standing Buffalo First Nation, Estevan, and Southey. Slated to air on four consecutive Thursday evenings, the CTV HOMETOWN TOUR kicks off with Big Beaver today – Thursday, Sept. 24. Every year in spring and fall, viewers are invited to nominate their communities as a CTV HOMETOWN TOUR destination by describing what makes their hometown special. From the nominations received, four communities are selected to have their stories recounted in a special, dedicated segment within the suppertime newscast. The feature segments are made possible through the valued local partnership with Federated Co-operatives (FCL). “The CTV HOMETOWN TOUR is a celebration of community, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase the incredible residents and communities that enrich this province,” said David Fisher, Vice-President and General Manager of CTV Saskatchewan. “I’m looking forward to another rewarding road trip with our valued partner Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) as we showcase these very unique local communities.” “With 2,500 retail locations in cities and towns across Western Canada, Co-ops have become a cornerstone in communities large and small,” said Leah Andrew, Associate Vice-President, Marketing and Communications for FCL. “Federated Co-operatives, on behalf of our Saskatchewan Co-op locations, is proud to demonstrate the importance of local community investment through our sponsorship of the CTV HOMETOWN TOUR.” “We look forward to sharing each unique CTV HOMETOWN TOUR experience with our viewers,” said Carl Worth, News Director, CTV Saskatchewan. “It is a privilege to share the unique and inspiring stories of our viewers and neighbours in their communities across southern Saskatchewan.” Since its launch in 2009, the CTV HOMETOWN TOUR has travelled to more than 100 communities across the province of Saskatchewan. Its founding vision – to serve the well-being of community – remains its proud standard.
