CTV Two Programming Highlights: April 1 – 13

CTV Two kicks off the month of April with the return of the mystery police drama UNFORGETTABLE, while country music’s biggest stars hit the stage for THE 49TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. Plus, viewers can catch new episodes of AMERICAN IDOL, THE VOICE, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, SHARK TANK, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, REIGN, ANGER MANAGEMENT, and encore episodes of DANCING WITH THE STARS, and CTV’s hit original series’ MASTERCHEF CANADA and SPUN OUT.

Programming Highlights for April 1 – 13 on CTV Two include:

  • Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joins THE VOICE as an adviser for the new Battles: Round Two (April 1 and 7)
  • The top finalists take the stage in hopes of impressing the judges, as they perform live on AMERICAN IDOL (April 2)

Tuesday, April 1

8 p.m. – THE VOICE – NEW EPISODE

The new second phase of battle rounds continue as the coaches enlist the help of   music industry veteran and Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, to offer his knowledge and skills as an adviser. In this phase, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet of a song chosen by the artists. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest, and has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach.

 

9 p.m. – ANGER MANAGEMENT – “Charlie Gets Date Rated” – NEW EPISODE

Charlie (Charlie Sheen) uses Jordan (Laura Bell Bundy) to improve his online date rating to land a hot girl.

Wednesday, April 2

8 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS, LIVE

The competition heats up when the top finalists take the stage in hopes of impressing the judges, as they perform live on AMERICAN IDOL.

 

Thursday, April 3
9 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – NEW EPISODE – LIVE

One finalist's journey comes to an end as America's vote is revealed live in the all-new results episode of AMERICAN IDOL.

9:30 p.m. – SPUN OUT – “Gaycation” – NEW TO CTV TWO

Nelson (Al Mukadam) is thrilled when Abby (Holly Deveaux) offers to do all “gay guy stuff” with his husband. But when Abby starts getting way too chummy with his hubby, Nelson wonders if maybe he’s just not gay enough for his man. Stephanie (Rebecca Dalton) is convinced a lucky bra is the secret to her newfound success at work. Bryce (J.P. Manoux) goes to great lengths to convince Gordon (Darcy Michael) to let him sit in his new, fancy office chair.

Friday, April 4

8 p.m. – UNFORGETTABLE – “Til Death” – NEW EPISODE

Hit police drama UNFORGETTABLE returns, starring Poppy Montgomery as NYPD Major Crimes Division’s Detective Carrie Wells, who possesses a rare condition that allows her to remember and readily access the details of every moment in her life. After a wealthy couple is murdered, Carrie (Montgomery) and Al (Dylan Walsh) pose as a married couple to lure in the killer who Al believes is linked to a series of unsolved homicides he once investigated.

9 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE

An entrepreneur from California wants an investment in his e-commerce flower business, which offers bouquets shipped direct from farms on an active volcano for just $40, flat. Then, another man from California thinks his anti-aging lifting strips for mouth wrinkles are a game changer.

 

Saturday, April 5

7 p.m. – MASTERCHEF CANADA – “Claws Out” – NEW TO CTV TWO

The Top 7 home cooks face a Mystery Box Challenge that pits them against a teeming tank of Nova Scotia lobsters. The home cook who gets the most creative with their crustaceans wins not one, but two huge advantages in a very unique Elimination Challenge. Skill is paramount, but so is communication in a tense tag-team exercise with surprising results.

 

8 p.m. – DANCING WITH THE STARS – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS – NEW TO CTV TWO

The remaining celebrities and their partners take the stage to compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy, and another celebrity and their dancing partner are eliminated from the competition.

 

Sunday, April 6

8 p.m. – THE 49TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS – LIVE

Dedicated to honouring and showcasing the biggest names and emerging talent in the country music industry, THE 49TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS broadcasts live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Four-time ACM Award winner and THE VOICE mentor Blake Shelton and reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan return to co-host and perform at Country Music's party of the year, featuring additional performances by Eric Church, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum with legendary musician Stevie Nicks, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, and The Band Perry.

Monday, April 7

8 p.m. – THE VOICE – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS

9 p.m. – ANGER MANAGEMENT – “Charlie and Jordan Go to Prison” – NEW EPISODE

After Jordan (Laura Bell Bundy) wrecks their sex study, Charlie (Charlie Sheen) is inspired to start a new clinic at the prison.

Wednesday, April 9

8 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS, LIVE

The competition heats up when the top finalists take the stage in hopes of impressing the judges, as they perform live on AMERICAN IDOL.

 

Thursday, April 10

8 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE – SPECIAL DAY AND TIME

An entrepreneur from Kentucky has whimsical plush slippers he claims feel like pillows on your feet. Then, Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner team-up to battle against Robert Herjavec, Mark Cuban, and Kevin O'Leary over a particularly enticing product.

 

9 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – NEW EPISODE – LIVE

One finalist's journey comes to an end as America's vote is revealed live in the all-new results episode of AMERICAN IDOL.

9:30 p.m. – SPUN OUT – “Mad About Beckett” – NEW TO CTV TWO

While working together on a PR assignment, Beckett (Paul Campbell) is determined to figure out why Stephanie (Rebecca Dalton) is unable to say the word ‘penis’ in his presence. Nelson (Al Mukadam) helps Dave (Dave Foley) deal with the death of his former college professor. Bryce’s (J.P. Manoux) reign as Twitter king of the office is usurped when a single tweet by Esther makes her a Twitter sensation.

Friday, April 11

8 p.m. – UNFORGETTABLE – “Flesh and Blood” – NEW EPISODE

Carrie (Poppy Montgomery) catches a deadly assassin who has eluded her before, but must put her personal vendetta aside when it's revealed that the woman has vital information to prevent a terrorist attack on New York City.

 

9 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE

A guitar player from Texas hopes to sing his way into a deal for his service that helps people find and hire music instructors, while a firefighter from California has come up with a simple way to stop costly, accidental fire sprinkler activations.

Saturday, April 12

7 p.m. – MASTERCHEF CANADA – “Line of Fire” – NEW TO CTV TWO

The final six home cooks are confronted with a classic MasterChef team challenge: The Restaurant Takeover – and the pressure is raised considerably when the red and blue teams learn that the professional kitchen they’ll be taking over belongs to one of the MASTERCHEF CANADA judges. After an extremely close call, the losing team faces a beloved Canadian classic in a Pressure Test – but this well-known sweet treat is deceptively difficult to master.

 

8 p.m. – DANCING WITH THE STARS – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS – NEW TO CTV TWO

The remaining celebrities and their partners take the stage to compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy, and another dancing pair is eliminated from the competition.

 

Sunday, April 13

8 p.m. – REIGN – “Liege Lord”– NEW TO CTV TWO

When Mary (Adelaide Kane) learns of a secret clause in her marriage contract that her mother, Marie de Guise (Amy Brenneman), and Queen Catherine (Megan Follows) orchestrated, Mary and Francis (Toby Regbo) embark on a dangerous plan to turn Scotland against her mother – and Mary gets her first taste of power as the Queen of Scots.
