CTV Two Programming Highlights: Dec. 2 – 17

CTV Two heads into December with the season finales of THE VOICE and MASTERCHEF JUNIOR, and the super-simulcast network premiere of the feature film and holiday television event, CORNER GAS: THE MOVIE. This month also sees all-new episodes of THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA, SHARK TANK, LAW & ORDER: SVU, REIGN, and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.

Programming Highlights for Dec. 2 – 17 on CTV Two and CTV GO include:

  • Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finds himself in hot water after he carries out a plan that requires Alaric's (Matt Davis) unwilling participation on THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (Dec. 4)
  • In a special holiday episode, the entrepreneurs hope the sharks will bring cheer and offer some green on SHARK TANK (Dec. 12)
  • The two finalists will compete head-to-head and prepare the most important three-course menu of their lives on the Season 2 finale of MASTERCHEF JUNIOR (Dec. 16) *SPECIAL TIME*
  • One artist is crowned the winner on the two-hour live Season 7 finale of THE VOICE (Dec. 16) *SPECIAL TIME*
  • In the not-to-be-missed two-hour film, the fine folks of Dog River, Saskatchewan face their biggest crisis ever in the super-simulcast network premiere of CORNER GAS: THE MOVIE (Dec. 17) on CTV, CTV Two, and CTV GO

Tuesday, Dec. 2

8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “Live Elimination” – NEW EPISODE – LIVE

Viewers vote to eliminate three artists, and the remaining five continue in the competition with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell William.

 

9 p.m. – MASTERCHEF JUNIOR –“Pop-Up Restaurant”– NEW EPISODES

The remaining six junior home cooks split into teams and compete in the first-ever "Junior Edition" Restaurant Takeover. The team that wins the challenge advances into the semi-finals, while the remaining home cooks must face elimination.

 

Thursday, Dec. 4

8 p.m. – THE VAMPIRE DIARIES – “I Alone” – NEW EPISODE

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finds himself in hot water after he carries out a plan that requires Alaric's (Matt Davis) unwilling participation. When Elena (Nina Dobrev) shares some hopeful news with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) about Bonnie (Kat Graham), she is caught off guard by Jeremy’s reaction.

 

9 p.m. – REIGN – “Acts of War”– NEW EPISODE

With a holiday celebration around the corner, Bash (Torrance Coombs) uncovers what could be the answer to Francis (Toby Regbo) finally escaping the oppressive thumb of Lord Narcisse (Craig Parker), and the two formulate a daring plan.

 

Friday, Dec. 5

9 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE

A Brooklyn man tries to interest the Sharks in his family-run business of foldable, wheeled luggage. Then, a couple from Oklahoma has a fashion-forward line of game day apparel for women geared towards college teams.

 

Monday, Dec. 8

8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “Live Semi-Final Performance” – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS – LIVE

The Top 5 artists perform live in front of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Gwen Stefani for America’s vote.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 9

8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “Finale Wildcard” – NEW EPISODE – LIVE

Viewers vote to determine which three of the final five artists will compete in the Live Finals with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams. The new wildcard gives the past nine most recently eliminated artists the opportunity to perform one last time for viewers to bring them back into the competition, and one artist returns for the Live Finals.

 

9:00 p.m. – MASTERCHEF JUNIOR – “A Cut Above the Rest” – NEW EPISODE

The Top 4 junior home cooks are tasked with breaking down an exquisite Alaskan King salmon and cutting as many perfect filets as possible. The winner of the challenge gets an advantage in the next round, when the contestants have a limited number of ingredients to prepare a restaurant-quality salmon dish using the filets from the previous challenge.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 10

8 p.m. – THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA – “The Mystery of the Fertility Fatality” – NEW EPISODE

The detectives are off to the races – horse races, that is – when a fertility doctor goes missing and his wife suspects foul play. Adding to Laura’s (Debra Messing) docket, the twins are accused of bullying at their Tae Kwon Do class, angering a group of nosy mothers.

 

9 p.m. – LAW & ORDER: SVU – “Pattern Seventeen” – NEW EPISODE

When a series of young, petite girls are assaulted in the early morning hours, Detective Rollins (Kelli Giddish) matches the pattern to several rapes she worked in Atlanta. When she finds that the victims’ rape kits were never tested, Atlanta SVU Chief Patton (Harry Hamlin, MAD MEN) claims none of the cases were worth pursuing.

 

Thursday, Dec. 11

8 p.m. – THE VAMPIRE DIARIES – “Christmas Through Your Eyes”– NEW EPISODE

With the holidays approaching, Bonnie (Kat Graham) attempts to replicate her favourite holiday traditions, while reminiscing about happier times.

 

9 p.m. – REIGN – “Mercy”– NEW EPISODE

In the aftermath of an attack on the castle, a blood-thirsty Francis (Toby Regbo) makes a startling decision that forever changes his rule as the King of France, causing him to track the missing Narcisse (Craig Parker) with a newfound lust for revenge.

Friday, Dec. 12

9 p.m. – SHARK TANK – NEW EPISODE

In a special holiday episode, the entrepreneurs hope the sharks will bring cheer and offer some green as a mother from California turns a family tradition into a business with a stamping kit proving Santa Claus really did visit your home. Plus, a former toy executive from Cincinnati hopes his book and plush toy will become part of the Jewish holiday tradition.

 

Monday, Dec. 15

8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “Live Final Performances” – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS – LIVE

Carson Daly hosts the final phase of the competition, as the remaining artists perform in front of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Gwen Stefani during a live broadcast.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 16

8 p.m. – MASTERCHEF JUNIOR – “The Finale” – NEW EPISODE – SEASON FINALE – SPECIAL TIME

In the exciting season finale, the two finalists compete head-to-head and prepare the most important three-course menu of their lives. Viewers will find out which talented junior home cook will earn the MASTERCHEF trophy and the $100,000 prize.

 

9 p.m. – THE VOICE – “Live Finale” – SEASON FINALE – TWO HOURS – LIVE – SPECIAL TIME

Celebrity coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams cheer on the remaining artists as the competition comes to a close and Carson Daly reveals who has been chosen as the winner on the Season 7 finale of The Voice.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 17

8 p.m. – CTV MOVIE: CORNER GAS: THE MOVIE – SUPER-SIMULCAST NETWORK PREMIERE ON CTV AND CTV TWO

Ten years after the debut of one of Canadian television’s most beloved comedy series, CORNER GAS returns to make its super-simulcast network premiere just in time for the holidays. In the not-to-be-missed two-hour film, it’s been five years and there’s still not a lot going on 40 kilometers from nowhere. But that’s all about to change as the fine folks of Dog River, Saskatchewan face their biggest crisis ever. Brent (Brent Butt) and the gang discover that the town’s been badly mismanaged, leaving residents with little choice but to pack up and leave. As residents make one last rally to save Dog River as they know it, they discover a devious plan by a corporate giant that would change life for Dog Riverites forever.
