CTV Two Programming Highlights: October 1 – 16

CTV Two kicks off October with the CTV Two debut and Season 3 premiere of SLEEPY HOLLOW, along with the season premieres of returning favourites THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and REIGN. CTV Two also delivers new episodes of BEST TIME EVER WITH NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, DANCING WITH THE STARS, THE VOICE, THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA, and LAW & ORDER: SVU plus the CTV Two movie premieres of THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY and THE BIG WEDDING. Programming Highlights for October 1 – 16 on CTV Two and CTV GO include:
  • After last season’s decisive, albeit heartbreaking victory, the fight against evil is over for Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison)… or so they think, on the Season 3 premiere of SLEEPY HOLLOW ( 1)

Thursday, Oct. 1 9 p.m. – SLEEPY HOLLOW – “I, Witness” – SEASON PREMIERE / CTV TWO DEBUT With old enemies gone, Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) are seemingly moving on with their lives. However, the discovery of a mysterious tablet shows that there may be a new dark prophecy surrounding the Witnesses. The two team together, with the help of an old amulet, and continue their epic takedown of the forces of evil. Friday, Oct. 2 8 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE: THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY – CTV TWO MOVIE PREMIERE Will Shaw (Henry Cavill, Man of Steel) goes to Spain for a weeklong sailing vacation with his family, including his father Martin Shaw (Bruce Willis, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) a cultural attaché. After returning from a shopping trip, Will’s whole world turns upside down when his family is kidnapped by intelligence agents. As it turns out, his father (Willis) is not a cultural attaché but a spy. The agents give Will one mission, recover a mysterious briefcase in 24 hours or watch his family die. Sunday, Oct. 4 8 p.m. – DANCING WITH THE STARS – NEW EPISODE Host of AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS and Season 19 Mirrorball Champion, Alfonso Ribeiro (THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR) returns to the ballroom for a special TV-themed episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS. Monday, Oct. 5 8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “The Blind Auditions Part 5” – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS The Blind Auditions continue with coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams, who each pick vocalists for their individual teams. The strongest vocalists compete to be selected by one of the coaches and fight for a chance to win the title of being named THE VOICE. Tuesday, Oct. 6 8 p.m. – BEST TIME EVER WITH NEIL PATRICK HARRIS – NEW EPISODE – LIVE –NEW TIME Anything can happen on BEST TIME EVER WITH NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, which features appearances by A-list stars, stunts, comedy skits, incredible performances, mini game shows, audience giveaways, and hidden camera pranks. Based on the wildly popular British hit ANT & DEC’S SATURDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY, this genre-busting format and its fearless star make for one of the best nights ever on TV, week after week. 9 p.m. – THE VOICE – “The Best Of The Blind Auditions” – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS Carson Daly hosts a special recap of the Blind Auditions including never-before-seen moments and a sneak peek at next week’s Battles. Also, coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams take a look back at their decisions as they head into the Battle Rounds. Wednesday, Oct. 7 8 p.m. – THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA – “The Mystery of the Locked Box” – NEW EPISODE When a technology wunderkind is murdered in a seemingly impenetrable high-security building, Laura (Debra Messing) and team must unravel the puzzling murder before someone steals the victim’s billion-dollar ideas. 9 p.m. – LAW AND ORDER: SVU – “Institutional Fail” – NEW EPISODE A starving toddler found wandering the streets alone leads detectives to the home of Manuela Ozuna (Jessica Pimental, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK), and another child in grave condition. The police question Department of Child Services caseworker Keith Musio (John Magaro, Unbroken), whose vague and backdated reports on the family suggest he hadn’t checked on the children in months. When the overworked Keith accuses his supervisor, Janette Grayson (Whoopi Goldberg, THE VIEW), of orchestrating the false reports, Chief Dodds (Peter Gallagher) promises to conduct an internal investigation. But when neglect leads to death, Barba (Raul Esparza) takes matters into his own hands and arrests them for manslaughter. Thursday, Oct. 8 8 p.m. – THE VAMPIRE DIARIES – “Day One of Twenty-Two Thousand, Give Or Take” – SEASON PREMIERE After a twisted plan left the life of his girlfriend Elena (Nina Dobrev) linked to that of his best friend Bonnie (Kat Graham), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to navigate his new reality without the love of his life. A newly empowered Bonnie has decided that she will be Damon’s moral compass and keeps a close eye on him as he, in turn, cautiously keeps tabs on Alaric (Matt Davis), following the loss of his fiancée Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, TWO AND A HALF MEN). Meanwhile, as he waits for Caroline (Candice King) to sort out her emotions, Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes an active role in protecting the town from Lily (Annie Wersching, CASTLE) and her family of Heretics, who have wasted no time wreaking havoc in Mystic Falls. 9 p.m. – SLEEPY HOLLOW – “Whispers In the Dark” – NEW EPISODE When Pandora uses her powers to unleash a new form of evil, Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) are forced to face their pasts in unexpected ways. Friday, Oct. 9 9 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE: THE BIG WEDDING – CTV TWO MOVIE PREMIERE To the amusement of their adult children and friends, long divorced couple Don (Robert De Niro, The Intern) and Ellie Griffin (Diane Keaton, And So It Goes) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding after his ultra-conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend. With all of the wedding guests looking on, the Griffins are hilariously forced to confront their past, present, and future – and hopefully avoid killing each other in the process. Sunday, Oct. 11 8 p.m. – DANCING WITH THE STARS – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS Synopsis not yet available. Monday, Oct. 12 8 p.m. – THE VOICE – “THE BATTLES PREMIERE” – NEW EPISODE – TWO HOURS The Battle Rounds begin and the coaches enlist the help of the music industry’s top recording artists to offer their knowledge and skills as advisors. Adam Levine teams up with John Fogerty, Blake Shelton with Brad Paisley, Gwen Stefani with Selena Gomez, and Pharrell Williams with Missy Elliot. In this phase, the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest, and has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach. Each coach has two steals during the Battle Rounds where their artists will proceed to the Knockout Rounds. Meanwhile, with Francis’ (Toby Regbo) fate at odds, and Elizabeth distracted by temptation in her first love, Robert Dudley (Charlie Carrick), both queens struggle to rule. Wednesday, Oct. 14 8 p.m. – THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA – “The Mystery of the Convict Mentor” – NEW EPISODE When two convicted killers break out of a maximum security prison, Laura (Debra Messing) and team join the manhunt, but their loyalties are called into question since one of the escapees is their former captain. 9 p.m. – LAW AND ORDER: SVU – “COMMUNITY POLICING” – NEW EPISODE Synopsis not yet available. Thursday, Oct. 15 8 p.m. – THE VAMPIRE DIARIES – “Never Let Me Go” – NEW EPISODE When an impulsive decision by Damon (Ian Somerhalder) threatens to unravel a carefully negotiated deal between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Lily (Annie Wersching, CASTLE), he has no choice but to make amends with his mother before things spiral further out of control. However, Lily remains one step ahead and carries out a harsh plan that hits Damon where it hurts most. Elsewhere, after returning to Whitmore College, Alaric (Matt Davis) turns to Bonnie (Kat Graham) for help with a mysterious and potentially dangerous artifact he has obtained, while Matt (Zach Roerig) is forced into making a risky life or death decision. 9 p.m. – SLEEPY HOLLOW – “BLOOD AND FEAR” – NEW EPISODE Fear is rampant in Sleepy Hollow when Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon, WAYWARD PINES) releases an ancient artifact from her box that can transform an ordinary human into a terrifying figure from the past. Friday, Oct. 16 8 p.m. – CTV TWO MOVIE: THE IDES OF MARCH Directed by George Clooney (Gravity), the Oscar®-nominated film THE IDES OF MARCH takes place during the frantic last days before a heavily contested Ohio presidential primary, when an up-and-coming campaign press secretary, Stephen Meyers (Ryan Gosling, Only God Forgives), finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s (Clooney) shot at the presidency.
