VANCOUVER (December 2, 2014) – CTV News Vancouver and local Bell Media Radio stations are on a mission to bring Toy Mountain to new heights! On Thursday, Dec. 11 between 5:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 12 between 5:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., on-air anchors and hosts from CTV News Vancouver, TSN 1040, The Beat 94.5, and 103.5 QM/FM will broadcast their shows live from Guildford Town Centre in support of Toy Mountain. The annual holiday campaign collects thousands of toys throughout Vancouver in support of The Salvation Army, for distribution to families in need across the region.
Throughout the live, two-day Toy Mountain broadcasts, viewers and listeners are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys or cash donations. The Salvation Army will deliver these toys to less fortunate children throughout the community in time for Christmas morning.
“CTV Vancouver and our local Bell Media Radio stations are strongly committed to making sure everyone has a wonderful holiday season,” said James Stuart, Regional Vice-President, Radio and Local Television, Bell Media. “With the generosity of CTV viewers and our radio audience, we can make a real difference in this community. I urge everyone to help us build a mountain of toys and along with it, a mountain of joy!”
Last year Toy Mountain raised more than $26,000 and collected more than 15,000 toys. New this year, supporters are encouraged to get the word out using the hashtag #ToyMountainYVR to challenge friends, family, and co-workers to meet or beat their donation, and help Toy Mountain reach new heights.
The Toy Mountain campaign consists of a strong partnership between CTV Vancouver, local Bell Media Radio stations, and The Salvation Army. The campaign is promotionally driven by CTV News Vancouver and local Bell Media Radio stations, with The Salvation Army providing collection and distribution logistics. Toy Mountain is presented by Alpine Credits and King of Floors.
