Toronto, ON (Dec. 2, 2012) – Followingtonight’s announcement that CTV has ordered THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, the network alsoconfirmed today that new sponsorship and brand partnership opportunities areimmediately available for the Canadian-produced, complementary version of thehit international series. Whether it is product integration,customized activations or original branded content, CTV Brand Partnerships iscommitted to working with clients and their brands to offer consumers anexciting and engaging four-screen experience for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA. CTV haslicensed the Canadian format rights from Disney-ABC Domestic Television and hasselected Insight Productions to produce the series in Canada, with the supportof Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri’s Profiles Television.

Set to anchor CTV’s Summer 2013 schedule, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA will provide a uniquely Canadiantake on the original series, with competitors discovering the world within theborders of Canada. Though the series' specific destinations won't be revealeduntil it airs, Canada offers divergent topography and disparate locales thatare bound to add to the excitement and complexity of the show and itschallenges, from Vancouver Island’s tropical rainforest, Alberta’s parchedBadlands, the peaks of the Rockies, and the barren tundra of the Great WhiteNorth, to the Boreal forests of Ontario and Quebec, the sea-faring ports of theMaritimes, the fjords of Newfoundland, and the teeming metropolises andundiscovered towns in between.

 

With the knowledge that most Canadians have nottravelled beyond their own province, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA gives Canadians the opportunity to race around Canada anddiscover the country they love in a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Withpotential stops in all 10 provinces and three territories, teams will race tothe finish line, criss-crossing up to 9,000 kilometres. A stunning depiction ofthe Canadian fabric, the teams will travel through both the country’s urbancentres as well as the most remote outposts in the land, all while exploring its broad cultural and ethnic diversity, wildlife,and iconic landmarks.

 

THEAMAZING RACE CANADA is based on THE AMAZING RACE, the nine-time, Emmy®award-winning, hit program created by Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganierithat premiered in 2001 in the United States. Van Munster, Doganieri, and MarkVertullo are executive producers for Worldrace Productions, a division ofProfiles Television. Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman are executiveproducers for Jerry Bruckheimer Television. The program is produced inassociation with ABC Studios.  The U.S. version of THE AMAZING RACE is aTop 3 series this fall on CTV and is this season’s #1 reality program in Canadawith an average audience of 2.7 million viewers.

 

THEAMAZING RACE CANADA will bethe 12th international version to launch outside of the United States, joiningAsia, Australia, Brazil, China, France, Israel, Latin America, Norway,Philippines, Ukraine and Vietnam as territories with an original THE AMAZINGRACE production.
