TORONTO (September 20, 2013) – School’s back in session, and this fall DEGRASSI has a brand new place to call home. The hit original Canadian series makes the move to MTV, with eight, brand-new, half-hour episodes beginning Thursday Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. ET. After a devastating loss and a tumultuous trip to Paris, the students of DEGRASSI head back to school this fall with a whole new outlook. Sure to mix things up this year are fresh faces Zoë Rivas (Ana Golja), Miles Hollingsworth III (Eric Osborne), and Winston “Chewy” Chu (Andre Kim), all new students to Degrassi.
Immediately following the new episode, MTV premieres AFTER DEGRASSI at 9:30 p.m. ET. Produced by Bell Media In-House Productions, the live 30-minute after show, broadcast in front of a studio audience, features exclusive content and interviews with cast members. In the premiere episode, DEGRASSI’s Ana Golja stops by to chat about her experiences as the new girl.
For the first time ever, MTV.ca will be the exclusive home to five DEGRASSI digital shorts premiering over the next year. Fans wanting even more DEGRASSI can log into MTV Core on Thursday, Sept. 26 and watch the first, never-before-seen, exclusively produced DEGRASSI digital short to gear up for the new season. The digital short series follows Eli Goldsworthy (Munro Chambers) in his adventures after graduating Degrassi. It’s a big, insane, and exciting world out there and Eli’s about to discover that sometimes being at university in New York City is as different, strange, and amazing as living on another planet.

In the DEGRASSI fall premiere episode, “This Is How We Do It” (Oct. 3), Degrassi’s back in school. Student Council President Drew wants to make sure everyone has a positive year after the devastating loss of Adam. But it’s easier said than done when he’s battling insomnia. Zoë is about to tackle her greatest role yet: “Zoë Rivas, Degrassi Student.” But when you grow up on a film set, how do you know what’s cool in the real world? Alli wants to spend her senior year with her best friends but when Leo flies to be by her side, it’ll take some convincing for the group to accept him as her new BF.
