TORONTO (March 6, 2014) – This April, Discovery World reveals the secrets of nature’s most tenacious and lovable birds in PENGUINS: SPY IN THE HUDDLE (April 5). The three-part special spends nearly a year in close company with the flightless birds, deploying 50 spy-cams to capture the true character of three very different breeds of the charismatic birds. Then, the masters of motorcar makeovers return to the junkyard for the second season of CLASSIC CAR RESCUE (April 21).

Discovery World gets up close and personal this April!

Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET/ 9 p.m. PT, beginning April 5

With their feisty nature, penguins are bringing up their young against the most extraordinary odds. From the freezing ice to the scorching desert, the team behind the award-winning Polar Bear :Spy on the Ice now reveals the intimate behaviour of nature’s most devoted parents – from Emperor penguins in Antarctica, Rockhopper penguins on the Falkland Islands, and Humboldt penguins in the Atacama Desert of Peru. The spy-cams are animatronic cameras cleverly disguised as life-size penguins which can silently infiltrate the colonies to record the penguins’ often emotional, and sometimes amusing, behaviour. They’re on hand to chart the tough challenges these penguins face from the moment they emerge from the sea, to raising their chicks, and finally returning to the water.

Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/ 9 p.m. PT, beginning April 21

Bernie Fineman and Mario Pacione work on a tight deadline and an even tighter budget to restore rust-buckets to their former glory. Even though they sometimes spend far more than their creation is worth and often run out of energy and funds before completing their project – fiddling with cars is their passion. But when it is done properly, it is possible to make a significant profit from classic car restoration.  For Season 2 they have transformed a 1974 Fiat 500 into a beautiful car worth more than they paid for.
