Up against a grueling Road Block, fiery mother and daughter Frankie and Amy fell behind the pack, and were eliminated in tonight’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA. In what proved to be their most challenging leg of the season, the duo took longer than expected at the Detour when they mixed up the molasses taffy recipe, and then served a predetermined time penalty at the Face Off. Then, in the hardest Road Block yet, Frankie and Amy learned the valuable lesson of reading their clue completely, as Amy memorized both the Latin and English names for the plants when only the English version was required. Frankie and Amy became the seventh team eliminated on THE AMAZING RACE CANADA when they arrived last to the Pit Stop at Indian Point, St. Andrews, N.B. Tonight’s episode revealed the final three teams competing to be the winner of Season 4 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: Joel and Ashley (father and daughter, Enoch Cree Nation, Alta.), Steph and Kristen (dating couple, Toronto), and (Jillian and Emmett  (exes, New Glasgow, N.S. and Gore, N.S.). “We might not have won the grand prize, but we got a grand prize,” said Frankie. “We ran through ten legs of this race and we did it together.” “This has been just the most amazing experience,” added Amy. **MEDIA NOTE** To download additional artwork for Season 4 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, please visit Episode 410 Recap: From the Pit Start in Cape Breton, N.S. teams travelled on two separate buses to the port city of Saint John, N.B. Once there, they searched the town for the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Spark and their next clue. A Route Info card directed the teams to the Saint John City Market where they found a kiosk. With the tablet provided, teams had to use the app to help them deliver five gift baskets to five different hotels in the surrounding area. Dating couple Steph and Kristen took the lead and quickly moved onto the Detour. In the Detour, teams had to choose between 1867 and 1879. In 1867, teams had to search uptown Saint John for the Moosehead Brewery. Once there, they had to choose one of five uniquely labelled beer bottles and then correctly pull enough bottles with their specific label off the conveyor belt to fill five cases of beer and stack a pallet. In 1879, teams headed to Crosby’s molasses – Canada’s oldest molasses factory. Here teams had to follow the classic Crosby molasses recipe and create at least 650 grams of molasses taffy that matched the correct colour and texture. All four teams selected the 1879 Detour. Steph and Kristen arrived at the Detour first and managed to leave just as the last team, Frankie and Amy, were arriving. Frankie and Amy took longer than expected at the Detour as they accidently put in four and a half cups of vinegar into their mixture instead of four and a half tablespoons. Next, teams proceeded to The Algonquin Golf Club, Saint Andrews, N.B. for a Face Off. The team that sunk their ball with the fewest number of strokes won the Face Off and received their next clue, while the losing team had to wait for the next team to arrive to play again.  The final losing team had to serve a predetermined time penalty. Although Steph and Kristen arrived first at the Face Off, father and daughter team Joel and Ashley beat the duo. Steph and Kristen then went up against Jillian and Emmett and won. Lastly, Jillian and Emmett faced Frankie and Amy and won, leaving Frankie and Amy to wait out their time penalty. Teams then proceeded to Kingsbrae Gardens where they were met with a Road Block. Here, one team member had to put on a blindfold, and guided by their partner, enter Scents & Sensitivity Garden. The blindfolded partner had to use only their sense of touch and smell to memorize and correctly identify the English names of 15 specific plants. When ready, the blindfolded partner was led into a separate garden on their own where they had to identify all 15 plants before receiving their next clue. While Joel and Ashley and Steph and Kristen were off to a solid start, teams Jillian and Emmett and Frankie and Amy were memorizing both the Latin and English names for each plant causing them to fall behind. Steph was successful on her fourth attempt, and the team departed the Road Block first. Using the OnStar Hands-Free Calling System in the Chevrolet Spark teams had to call Jon Montgomery to receive their next clue. Teams then drove to Indian Point, St. Andrews, N.B. in search of Jon at the Pit Stop. Steph and Kristen arrived in first place winning a trip for two to Sydney, Australia with five nights’ accommodation provided by Frankie and Amy were the last team to arrive at the mat and were eliminated from the Race.
