TORONTO (April 7, 2014) – Tackling the horror that surrounds Ariel Castro’s Seymour Avenue home, HOUSE OF HORRORS: KIDNAPPED IN CLEVELAND tells the chilling story of three young women imprisoned for 11 years. Premiering Sunday, May 4 at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT, the one-hour Investigation Discovery special unravels the psychology of how one man kept the trio captive for so long, asks why they did not try to escape earlier, and examines the traumatic long-term effects.
Through new footage, news coverage, interviews with neighbours, family-expert psychologists, criminologists, and previous kidnapping victims, Investigation Discovery explores how Amanda Berry, Georgina De Jesus, and Michelle Knight were kidnapped and trapped for years in an unassuming residential Cleveland neighbourhood. The special features experts dissecting the psychological dichotomy of Castro, as his friends and neighbours describe their personal experiences with him over the years, including even being in the house while the women were chained up in the basement. May 6 marks the one year anniversary of their escape and reunion with their loved ones.
