TORONTO (March 4, 2014) –  This April, Animal Planet is bringing the sights and sounds of wildlife, and the incredible dangers of this diverse and tenacious continent with the network premiere of NORTH AMERICA (April 1). To celebrate Earth Day 2014 – the largest, most-celebrated environmental event worldwide, Animal Planet is offering back-to-back episodes of NORTH AMERICA (April 22).

In this unforgettable seven-part television network event, Animal Planet turns the lens toward this continent  and captures a land where life collides with hostile, untamed wilderness in the most diverse and deadly environment on Earth. NORTH AMERICA will reveal the intimate stories of animals struggling to survive in unforgiving weather and rugged terrain. Never-seen-before sequences range from the elusive desert jaguar in Mexico, to daring grizzly bears diving in more than six metres of water to grab salmon in Alaska.

Programming note: A special back-to-back Earth Day premiere of Episode 4 and 5 of NORTH AMERICA will air on Animal Planet Tuesday, April 22 from 8:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. ET.
