Kaley Cuoco emotionally overwhelmed as THE BIG BANG THEORY gets its own "stage name"

— February 8, 2019

By BILL HARRIS Special to BellMedia PR BURBANK, Calif. - When Kaley Cuoco thinks about the enormous honour of having a stage named after the long-running smash-hit series THE BIG BANG THEORY on the Warner Brothers lot, she gets very emotional. Cuoco, along with her castmates and the entire creative team behind CTV’s THE BIG BANG THEORY - which is in its 12th and final season, streaming Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET - were on hand this week for a ceremony to rename Stage 25 on the Warner Brothers Lot. It now forever will be known as The Big Bang Theory Stage. THE BIG BANG THEORY - starring Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg, Mayim Bialik, and Melissa Rauch -  is only the fifth show to be commemorated in such a manner on the Warner lot, the others being FRIENDS, ER, TWO AND A HALF MEN, and ELLEN. “I didn’t know that it was only five shows, in 90 years I think they said, that have had a plaque on a stage,” Cuoco said. “Even as a kid, auditioning here at Warner Brothers, I would pass the FRIENDS stage across the way and be like, ‘Wow, how do you get that? That must be … ’ ” It was at this point that Cuoco started to tear up, as she was hit by the enormity of what THE BIG BANG THEORY has achieved. “So to have our stage, um, with the plaque is really … heartwarming,” she said, struggling to get the words out. “Yeah, it’s really special.” THE BIG BANG THEORY airs its series finale this spring on CTV. The first seven seasons are available for streaming on Crave. billharristv@gmail.com @billharris_tv
