MLS Teams Take on Europe’s Best Clubs on TSN

TORONTO (July 18, 2014) – TSN is home to five games featuring MLS teams facing off against some of the best clubs in the world as they tour North America this summer. Games will feature Barclays Premier League (BPL) champion Manchester City, German Bundesliga winner Bayern Munich, and Arsenal and Tottenham – two perennial BPL powerhouses (see below for complete broadcast schedule). 

Coverage kicks off with Seattle vs. Tottenham tomorrow (Saturday, July 19) at 4 p.m. ET on TSN2. Seattle, currently atop the MLS standings in points, is led by American international and former Tottenham striker Clint Dempsey. 

TSN’s coverage is headlined by Toronto FC vs. Tottenham as TFC’s star striker Jermain Defoe takes on his former club for the first time on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. ET. At BMO Field for the game are MLS ON TSN’s Luke Wileman, Jason deVos, and Kristian Jack. Fans can also listen live on TSN Radio 1050 in Toronto. 

Additional highlights from TSN and TSN2’s slate of games include New York Red Bulls star Thierry Henry taking on his long-time former club Arsenal, and BPL champion Manchester City vs. Kansas City, winner of the 2013 MLS CUP. 

All five games on TSN and TSN2 are also available live on TSN GO.

  • Toronto vs. Tottenham on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. ET on TSN
  • Kansas City vs. Manchester City on Wednesday, July 23 at 9 p.m. ET on TSN
  • New York vs. Arsenal on Saturday, July 26 at 5 p.m. ET on TSN2
  • Chivas vs. Bayern Munich on Thursday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET on TSN2
