TORONTO (June 26, 2014) – The truth changes everything when cutting-edge, coming-of-age drama, FINDING CARTER premieres Tuesday, July 8 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV. FINDING CARTER follows high school student Carter Stevens (Kathryn Scott, SKINS), who believes she has the perfect life until she discovers she was abducted at age three, and is forced to abandon everything she’s known and return to her long-lost blood relatives. Starting a new life with her biological family, Carter must navigate new parents (Cynthia Wathros, GREY’S ANATOMY and Alexis Denisof, GRIMM), a twin sister (Anna Jacoby-Heron, VEGAS), high school, and boys, all while attempting to protect the only mom she's ever known, Lori (Milean Govich, THE MENTALIST), before the police arrest her for kidnapping. In the series premiere of FINDING CARTER (Tuesday, July 8 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV), Carter (Prescott) is arrested after the police bust an out-of-control high school party. While at the police station, a social worker reveals a shocking truth to Carter – that the life she has been living is a lie and that Lori (Govich), the woman Carter knows to be her mother is, in fact, her kidnapper. Carter is then forced to pack up the only life she’s known and reunite with her birth parents (Wathros and Denisof). However, Carter clashes with her new family and their uptight ways, only inspiring her to find and reconnect with Lori before the police find her and arrest her for kidnapping.
