TORONTO (April 11, 2014) – With more access than ever before, MTV kicks off the blockbuster summer season with four influential brands bringing THE 2014 MTV MOVIE AWARDS to Canadian viewers through exciting activations, brand integrations, and contesting. Teaming up with MTV this year are Alesse, Kia Canada, SCENE LP, and WINNERS®, bringing viewers closer than ever to the coveted golden popcorn, when the star-studded excitement of THE 2014 MTV MOVIE AWARDS airs live, exclusively on MTV, this Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. ET.
With just a few days until the awards are handed out, MTV also announces the first-ever Canadian Twitter Amplify campaign for a Bell Media Entertainment Specialty channel, through a partnership with SCENE, Canada’s first and only entertainment rewards program. The innovative Twitter Amplify campaign will see video clips taken directly from the SCENE correspondent on the ground in L.A. posted across the @MTVCanada Twitter channel. SCENE will sponsor the branded video player and be featured in a 3-8 second pre-and post-roll clip on six of the 60-90 second video tweets. The videos will showcase highlights from before, during, and after the ceremony, including backstage footage and not-to-be-missed moments. The content will also include the winner announcement of the first-ever Canada’s Fan Choice Award, as voted by SCENE members. Additional engagement will be driven by custom #hashtags, links to the SCENE website, brand mentions, and promoted video tweets. The content all happens in real-time throughout the star-studded excitement of THE 2014 MTV MOVIE AWARDS.

MTV and Alesse want fans to make their predictions on who will take home the popcorn trophies at this year’s MTV Movie Awards. Until Saturday, April 12, at 12 midnight ET, viewers can submit their picks using the online ballot for a chance to win $2,500 cash and $2,500 towards a charity of their choice!
Kia Canada is totally transforming one lucky Canadian winner and a friend for the MTV MOVIE AWARDS. Viewers previously entered for a chance to win the ultimate trip to Los Angeles to undergo a VIP makeover, attend the awards, and experience the totally transformed 2014 Kia Soul. Their entire adventure will be captured for a vignette on-air during the broadcast and online. Starting Thursday, April 17th, viewers can head online to mtv.ca/totallytransformed to see the total transformation as well as a chance to win $500!
For the first time, SCENE has teamed up with MTV to give one lucky member a chance to head to L.A. as the official ‘SCENE Correspondent’. They will experience the excitement of this year’s MTV MOVIE AWARDS and then report back all of their awesome experiences to viewers across Canada.
SCENE and MTV are also celebrating the biggest tantrums and freak-outs in this year’s top films by offering SCENE members the exclusive chance to vote online for which nominee they think should win the Best “Made a SCENE” Award, the first ever Canadian fan choice award of its kind! Up until Sunday, April 13th at 12 midnight ET, viewers can visit MTV.ca and cast their vote for the first-ever Canada’s Fan Choice Award: Best “Made a SCENE” Award, which will be handed out from the red carpet during MTV’s live broadcast.
During the live MTV MOVIE AWARDS broadcast, MTV viewers can also join in on the action during interstitials with host Lauren Toyota as she watches the show. She will also chat with the official SCENE correspondent about their unprecedented access, the prep for the show, and all the exciting details about who they think should take home the golden popcorn trophies.
Additionally, MTV wants to give viewers at home the chance to win free movies for an entire year! Fans can tune in to the live MTV MOVIE AWARDS broadcast and answer a specific question about the show at MTV.ca/movies for a chance to win the grand prize.
Hosted by Emmy® Award-winning comedian Conan O’Brien, THE 2014 MTV MOVIE AWARDS will see the cast of ENTOURAGE reunite on-stage to present the MTV Generation Award to Academy Award®-nominated actor and producer, Mark Wahlberg, while silver screen nominees American Hustle and Wolf of Wall Street duke it the in the categories of On-Screen Duo, Best Musical Moment, and Movie of the Year.
