Fabian and Luayn, Teeterville, Ont. awarded $50,000 cash prize and title of “Most Improved”

To tweet this release: TORONTO (June 9, 2015) – Last night, during Discovery’s LIVE finale broadcast of BLOOD, SWEAT & TOOLS, the program’s resident experts announced Teeterville, Ont.’s Fabian and Luayn (Red Team) as the winners of the $50,000 cash prize and title of “Most Improved”. Collecting votes during the past week, Fabian and Luayn were brought together last night with runners-up Danielle and Tyler (Pink Team) and  Jesse and Holly (Blue Team) for a look back at the progress made since the first eight episodes were filmed. Then, in-studio, the finalists went head-to-head in a handyman quiz and a final tool challenge to test their home improvement prowess while the votes continued throughout the live broadcast. Ultimately, the final decision was left up to Canada and voters chose the Red Team as the BLOOD, SWEAT & TOOLS winners. When the Red Team first arrived in the iconic cottage country of Northern Ontario their relationship was put to the test. The long hours and tough competition brought them to the breaking point, but hard work and communication skills turned the pair into the team to beat. Now, following their experience on BLOOD, SWEAT & TOOLS, the couple’s increased communication skills and home improvement know-how have primed them to nail any DIY project at home. “We are filled with so many emotions. We are exhilarated,  overwhelmed, and grateful,” said Fabian and Luayn. “We are so thankful for the amount of support from our friends family and fans.” **Media Note** Screeners, photography, and press kit for BLOOD, SWEAT & TOOLS available online at

From the producers of MASTERCHEF CANADA and CANADA’S WORST DRIVER comes the new series BLOOD, SWEAT & TOOLS, featuring a lively battle among five of Canada’s most inept home renovating couples competing for a $50,000 cash prize. Set in the iconic cottage country of Northern Ontario, BLOOD, SWEAT & TOOLS features duos of hapless handypersons performing all manner of home renovation challenges, from installing toilets and outdoor showers, to building gazebos and repairing roofs. The teams work to impress three experts – Rob Koci of Canadian Contractor magazine, fourth-generation tradesman and carpenter, Helder Brum, and power tool expert Hillary Manion – with Do It Yourself (DIY) home repair projects in a bid to be named “Most Improved.” The couples must perform these DIY tasks quickly and to exacting specifications. Then, following eight episodes of hammering it out to stay alive in the competition, the final decision is left up to Canada with viewers determining the winning couple LIVE during the season finale episode.
