WITH ZANE CAPLANSKY to its menu. Beginning this Saturday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m., the all-new, one-hour program features the popular Toronto television host, restaurateur, and food truck pioneer just ahead of the lunch hour, in conversation about everyone’s favourite topic: good food. From local trends, new dining establishments cropping up across the city, to interviews with the hottest chefs around town, listeners can tune-in to NEWSTALK 1010, online at NEWSTALK1010.com, and via the NEWSTALK 1010 app to formulate dining plans, and find new ways to help their inner “foodie” flourish.“Zane is a popular personality and central figure in Toronto’s robust dining and restaurant scene, and we are excited to engage him with listeners in a weekly conversation about food,” said Mike Bendixen, Program Director, NEWSTALK 1010. “Food brings people together, and we look forward to sparking the interest and appetite of listeners every Saturday, and hope they get out into the city to try new restaurants and trends.” Caplansky rocketed to popularity when he launched Caplansky’s Delicatessen in 2007, selling house-cured, hand-cut, smoked meat sandwiches and knishes. He later launched his eponymous full-service delicatessen in Kensington Market in 2009, and followed with “Thunderin’ Thelma” in 2011, a food truck that travels across the city.
