Nike Skills Challenge Events Revealed in Advance of the Expanded BIOSTEEL ALL CANADIAN BASKETBALL GAMES, Airing Live on March 31, Exclusively on TSN

TORONTO (March 26, 2019) – Canada’s next generation of basketball stars are ready to hit the court for the expanded 2019 BIOSTEEL ALL CANADIAN BASKETBALL GAMES, airing live from the University of Toronto’s Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport on Sunday, March 31 exclusively on TSN. In the days leading up to the event, players selected to the showcase boys’ and girls’ games show off their hoops skills in the Nike Skills Challenge, taking place at Athlete Institute in Orangeville, Ont.

The schedules for the Nike Skills Challenge events are as follows:

Friday, March 29
- 7 p.m. ET: Nike Girls Futures Game
- 8:30 p.m. ET: BioSteel All Canadian Mixed Scrimmage

Saturday, March 30
- 6 p.m. ET: Nike Boys Futures Game
- 7:30 p.m. ET: Sport Chek 3-Point Shootout
- 8 p.m. ET: BioSteel All Canadian Slam Dunk Competition

The two Nike Futures Games feature a selection of top Grade 9 and 10 basketball players from across Ontario, including #1 ranked prospect Elijah Fisher (2023). Rosters for each game are available on the event’s official website.

As announced earlier this month, TSN’s exclusive broadcast of the BIOSTEEL ALL CANADIAN BASKETBALL GAMES features Canada’s top high school basketball players, including top NCAA prospects Faith Dut (Florida), Makayla Ennis (Virginia Tech), Brynn Masikewich (UCLA), Emanuel Miller (Virginia Tech), Jahcobi Neath (Wake Forest), Merissah Russell (Louisville), and Tyrese Samuel (Seton Hall).

The two showcase games are led by coaches from elite Canadian programs. Coaching the BIOSTEEL ALL CANADIAN GIRLS BASKETBALL GAME are Michèle Bélanger, head coach of women’s basketball at the University of Toronto, and Theresa Burns, head coach of women’s basketball at McMaster University. Assistant coaches for the game are Rashida Atkinson, Danielle Boiago, Deena Spivak, and Jacki Tipping.

Head coaches for the BIOSTEEL ALL CANADIAN BOYS BASKETBALL GAME are Nate Philippe, head coach of men’s basketball at York University, and Justin Serresse, head coach of men’s basketball at Wilfrid Laurier University. Assistant coaches for the game are Brandon Ennis, Patrick Falduti, Chuder Teny, and Juan Nunez.

Head coaches for the Nike Boys Futures Game are Crestwood Prep’s Ro Russell and TRC Academy/RISE Prep’s Jeremie Kayeye. Head coaches for the Nike Girls Futures Game are Crestwood Prep’s Marlo Davis and King’s Christian’s Zelimir Stevanovic.
