TORONTO (May 7, 2015) – Witnessing the inner workings of what it takes to launch and execute a mighty mission on some of the world’s most unique aircrafts, viewers take flight into the world of aviation when the original Canadian series MIGHTY PLANES returns for Season 3, Sunday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET/ 9 p.m. PT on Discovery. The six-episode season premieres with the story of the CP-140 Aurora, considered one of the best surveillance aircraft in the world. This episode follows the Buffalo and her crew conducting two search and rescue training exercises: a missing aircraft and a sinking boat. Super Guppy Friday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT This legendary flying behemoth made of old aircraft parts not only flies – she carries NASA’s bulkiest and most cutting edge aerospace components. The plane flies from its home in El Paso, Texas to the Boeing facility in Long Beach, California to pick up the multi-million dollar payload. Then fully loaded, the pilots muscle the bloated aircraft to the East Coast, making multiple stops along the way. Nolinor 737 Friday, June 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT It takes a special plane to fly to the coldest mine in the world, where conditions can turn deadly in seconds.
