TORONTO (September 25, 2013) – Animal Planet’s SAVE MY PET returns for Season 3 with even more heartwarming – and sometimes heartbreaking – true stories as real-life families go to great lengths to save the lives of their beloved pet. Premiering Friday, October 11 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT, the 13-episode season features dramatic re-enactments of pets in crisis. When trouble strikes and pets are in the midst of a medical emergency, their families commit to saving them and take boundless measures to help the creature they care for.  


With frantic dashes to the emergency room, through to successful recoveries, SAVE MY PET returns to Animal Planet on October 11 at 9 p.m. ET

SAVE MY PET: “Hicks”

In the season premiere, a firefighter's new Bernese Mountain Dog named Hicks is diagnosed with a very serious heart defect. But, the life-saving cardiac surgery Hicks needs just might be what kills the little pup.

A cat has a blood clot that causes paralysis in his hind legs. One leg becomes badly infected and amputation seems to be the only hope – but, he's so weak he would never survive the operation.


Friday, October 18 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

A young agility dog suddenly suffers from internal bleeding and an almost-complete lack of platelets. On the verge of bleeding to death, Ruby receives a blood transfusion directly from a donor dog.

SAVE MY PET: “Paula”

A young girl's beloved horse takes a terrible fall and nobody expects her to walk again. Only her owner's love and determination give Paula a chance at life – and a remarkable recovery.

Friday, October 25 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

A dog's innocent-looking cyst turns out to be cancer. And after surgery to remove the tumour, Lexus develops paralysis and a life-threatening infection.
