Tell him you quit.” – THE LAUNCH celebrity mentor, Max KermanTORONTO (February 13, 2019) – As announced on tonight’s episode of CTV’s THE LAUNCH, R&B/Pop artist Saveria from London, Ont., was chosen by world-renowned music executive and CEO/Founder of Big Machine Label Group Scott Borchetta, Québec pop icon Marie-Mai, celebrity mentor Max Kerman, and music producer Jon Levine to record the new original single “Down to the Roots”. The third single from the smash-hit music series was released to radio stations across the country immediately following tonight’s broadcast. The song is also available now on music services everywhere. Viewers can catch-up on Episode 1 – 3 on Saturday, Feb. 16, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV. “I’m so happy right now...“Down to the Roots” is my song!” said Saveria. The mentors were mesmerized with Saveria’s subtle rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way” during her audition. Scott thought Saveria had all the talent, but also thought her artistic vision could use focus. Following the audition process with all five emerging artists – Charlie the Kid, James Clayton, Old Soul Rebel, Polina Grace, and Saveria – the mentors chose Saveria and Vancouver duo Old Soul Rebel as the two artists to record and perform their own versions of “Down to the Roots” in front of a live studio audience. With only 48 hours for studio rehearsals, recording sessions, and to work with the mentors on their performances, both artists were anxious before getting on stage. Old Soul Rebel was fearless and commanding, really playing to the crowd and making the song their own. Saveria completely came out of her shell and her voice exploded in front of the live crowd. And even though she made a few improvisations, after deliberations, the mentors chose to launch Saveria’s version of “Down to the Roots” across Canada and to the world via THE LAUNCH’s expansive slate of top music partners. Following tonight’s song launch, Bell Media is poised to throw the full weight of its marketing, promotional, and publicity support behind Saveria’s “Down to the Roots” across its national footprint of broadcast and digital entertainment properties. “Down to the Roots” is written by Simon Wilcox and Scott Stevens and produced by Jon Levine.
