MONTRÉAL (September 20, 2017) – CHOM 97 7 is proud to announce that Randy Renaud will become its new daytime host, from 10am to 3pm. MIDDAYS WITH RANDY RENAUD will debut Monday, September 25th, as Renaud will be taking over the midday position from Tootall who is retiring after 40 years of broadcasting on CHOM 97 7.
“Randy is the perfect fit for middays on CHOM. He has a ton of experience and a deep passion for music,” said Picard, CHOM 97 7’s Assistant Program Director and Music Director. “Randy’s vast wealth of musical knowledge is part of his proven track record, and it will help him continue to connect with listeners in interesting and creative ways.”
Renaud started at CHOM 97 7 30 years ago and has been regularly hosting weekend afternoons for the past 15 years. He’s programmed and hosted several specialty shows including BLUE MONDAY, THE BLACK CAT ALLEY and most recently CLASSIC VINYL SUNDAY. Along with the regular programming, Randy has also conceived, written and produced a variety of documentary series on CHOM 97 7.
Tootall’s last on-air shift is Friday, September 22nd. A Tribute To Tootall will take place that evening at Club Soda. The show, which will feature The Box, Sam Roberts, The Pursuit of Happiness et The Damn Truth, sold out within hours of tickets going on sale.
