TORONTO (June 6, 2014) –The Genie Army came together again for her much-anticipated 2014 FRENCH OPEN semifinal match yesterday morning. Overnight data from BBM Canada confirms that Canadian star Eugenie Bouchard’s second consecutive trip to a Grand Slam semifinals drew an average audience of 536,000 viewers to TSN (286,000) and RDS (250,000). Yesterday’s FRENCH OPEN coverage is the most-watched non-finals FRENCH OPEN broadcast ever on TSN and RDS and more than tripled last year’s women’s semifinals audience.*
Overall, more than 1.5 million unique viewers watched Bouchard’s match against her childhood idol Maria Sharapova on TSN and RDS.
TSN’s live coverage of the 2014 FRENCH OPEN continues with the women’s final featuring Maria Sharapova vs. Simona Halep, airing live tomorrow (Saturday, June 7) at 9 a.m. ET on TSN. Coverage concludes with the men’s final as #1-seed Rafael Nadal takes on #2-seed Novak Djokovic, airing live on Sunday, June 8 at 9 a.m. ET on TSN.
