Strippers Love Vegas! Discovery’s VEGAS RAT RODS Showcases Genius Car Fabricators Who Turn Auto Junk into Auto Art, April 17

— March 20, 2014

TORONTO (March 20, 2014) – Welder Up’s Steve Darnell and his band of oddballs and misfits are the Picassos of automotive fabricators. They work out of a sprawling garage on the outskirts of the Las Vegas Strip – stripping and re-building one-of-a-kind Mad Max-style VEGAS RAT RODS for quirky customers out of hidden treasure. Premiering Thursday, April 17 at 10 p.m. ET/11 p.m. PT on Discovery, the eight-part original Canadian series from Toronto’s Proper Television tails Darnell and crew as they assemble bizarre and eccentric vehicles into rolling works of auto art dubbed “rat rods.” In order to make a profit, the crew must complete the rat rod in 10 days. Can Darnell turn his bizarre talent into a profitable business?

In each episode of VEGAS RAT RODS, Darnell brings his creativity and imagination to the next level as a different vehicle is born that represents the person it is being made for. From a shotgun gearshift, and mason jar taillights, to death row electric chair car seats and horseshoe gas peddles – each rat rod is equal parts discarded treasure, high-tech performance parts, and wild imagination.

Meet the VEGAS RAT RODS Crew:
